I had some concerns but so far, it is so great!
The media could not be loaded. We had a "cat door" attached to our sliding door for several years. It was basically a panel that you put in the track of the sliding door, that is as tall as the sliding door with a hole at the bottom for your cat to gain entry. It didn't have anything that would close, like a flap. It was just a hole. She used it all the time, but so did the neighbor's cat. My cat used to love the neighbor's cat, but he started to bully her and she did not approve that he was coming in the house. He started marking and that was it! We had to do something. My cat is a scaredy cat. She's afraid of any noise, so I was very anxious about the noise this automatic door makes. And she WAS afraid and avoided the door for a good couple of days. We worked with her just a little bit, putting her through the door to go out and then again to come back in. I would say it took her about 3 days before she was willing to try it on her own...this is after her initial many tries the first day. So weird, she went in and out many times that first day on her own and then the next day she ran from the noise and totally avoided coming close to it for a couple of days.Anyway, we've had it installed since just before Christmas, so about a month and a half now and she LOVES it! She seems to feel less anxious that the neighbor's cat is going to come in the house, eat her food and sleep on her bed - she seems to like that all she has to do is look in the door's direction and it opens - I think she thinks she is magic. The other thing I was worried about was the size of the transmitter on her collar. It weighs just about the same as the apple tag that I have on her collar, so now she's got both things on her collar and it seems like a lot, but she's gotten used to that too.Oh, just some advice, the collar that this comes with does not have a breakaway and is not elastic. And the transmitter doesn't have holes large enough for it to fit easily on an elastic collar, so I cut a piece of the collar that it came with, made sure it was long enough to hold the transmitter and then sewed that small piece to my cat's regular elastic collar. Now if she's outside and gets stuck on something, she can squirm her way out of the entanglement and I have the apple tag as backup so that I can find the collar if she loses it. The apple tag is on one side of her neck and the transmitter is on the other - they balance each other.I had the apple tag on her for about a year or so and it comes in handy to find her if we need to.I just realized another thing I like about this door, when I hear the door open, I know she's coming in to see me :-)

Absolutely amazing pet door!
I’ve been using the High Tech Pet Door PX1 for 3 weeks now, and it’s truly incredible. It works flawlessly and has made life so much easier for both me and my cat. Installation was super easy—I was able to set it up without any professional help. The best part is that my cat can eat and go freely without me having to do a thing. The door opens automatically when it detects his collar, and it does so smoothly and safely. Plus, the battery life is impressive—I haven't had to recharge or replace it since day one.All in all, this is a fantastic investment. If you have pets and want to give them freedom while keeping your home secure, I highly recommend it. It's worth every penny!

This door changed our life
The media could not be loaded. We purchased the medium dog door about 9 months ago, and we’ve used it long enough to say this thing has made a huge impact on the quality of life for my animals and has been extremely reliable. We own 6 small dogs under 20 lbs and a 40ish lb blue heeler (hes almost 18 years old). I also foster small dogs and at any given time have between 1-4 small dogs. During summer, sometimes for up to a week I may even have my daughters two small dogs during vacation season. Let’s just say this door gets a major workout!!!!My dog pack fly in and out this door all day - going potty, chasing friends, barking at a vehicle , chasing a noise….. so many adventures to have!! When I bought this I was hoping they’d be able to go potty on their own but it’s turned into a happiness door. It’s the single most best pet purchase I’ve ever made. I only wish I had bought the size up so my old man blue heeler could use it. At the time, I really didn’t think a 17 yo dog would have an interest in it, but he does and I wish I had the bigger door but don’t.I had my neighborhood “mr fixit” install it bc hubby’s to-do list was too long. Took the guy about 90 mins. He said it was super easy. Plugged it in and threw the collars on the dogs and it’s been reliable ever since. I have extra collars for the fosters and grand dogs. Takes a new dog about an hour to figure it out with 100% success rate (about 30 of my dogs and fosters have used this door from 8 weeks old to 15 years old and took to it immediately with no hesitation).PROS:- quick easy install and comes with one collar- collar sensors are extremely durable- plugs in but also has battery backup in case of storms- can turn off at turn or if you leave home to secure pets indoors-pets under 25 lbs can fit through size medium. Buy size large for later pet.CONS:- additional collars must be purchased for approx $50 each- collar senders only fit on this ugly black collar they send you unless you buy a black rubber boot for $10 which also will protect the sensor from bite marks, mud, etc. then will slide onto a medium or small pretty collar.- on very rare occasions (probably a lady with a dozen dog problems) it gets confused and stays closed even when a sender approaches; just turn off then back on to correct.

Nice but pricey
So far the door is working great. It's pricey and unfortunately I found one like it onCostco next for $150 cheaper.
