Tree Pro Slit Tube Tree Guard - 36 Inches, White, Bundle of 5

I hadn't been able to find tree guards locally, so I went to Amazon. The photo suggests a plastic tree guard that simply wraps around the tree trunk because of the plastic's firmness. I have used that type of product in the past and that is what I was looking for. What this product is is a flimsy piece of plastic with a bunch of holes in it, some small black zip ties and some mesh things--who knows what they are for!!?? No instructions came with the product. I tried to attach the guard with the zip ties through the holes, but none matched. I ditched them and used some velcro. Don't get this product, unless you want to waste your money, and instead look for something else.

Slit tube arrives rolled on width dimension. Many holes in plastic and slots cut on one end. No instructions were included. An equal number of stretch mesh pieces about 6" long and a pack of ties are included. The plastic the length ordered and the mesh pieces are socks to hold tube together. Still not sure why the holes are there but the ties are reuseable which will allow adjustments as the plant grows. I hope the tube functions as described however only time will tell. Tubes do require additional parts not included (support rods).

Buy these from a decent online Nurserymen's supply house. These should cost $15/bundle, not $25.
