It's time for a Star Wars bedtime story in a galaxy far, far away, and Darth Vader's parenting skills are tested anew in this delightful follow-up to the breakout New York Times bestsellers Darth Vader and Son and Vader's Little Princess . From Jeffrey Brown, celebrated artist and author of the beloved and bestselling Darth Vader and Family books, including Darth Vader and Friends and A Vader Family Sithmas , comes a Star Wars story to brighten any dark night. In this Episode, the Sith Lord must soothe his rambunctious twins, Luke and Leia―who are not ready to sleep and who insist on a story. As Vader reads, the book looks in on favorite creatures, droids, and characters, such as Yoda, R2-D2, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Maul, Admiral Ackbar, Boba Fett, and many others as they tuck in, yawn, and settle down to dream. As ever, Jeffrey Brown's charming illustrations and humor glow throughout, playing on children's book conventions to enchant adults and kids alike. This makes a fun and unique gift for Father’s Day, expecting parents, or new dads and moms ready to share their love of Star Wars with the next generation. DARTH VADER AND FAMILY: Bringing out the lighter side of the Dark Lord's personality, the Vader and Family books have charmed millions of readers who can't get enough of the Star Wars universe. Perfect for Father's Day, Mother's Day, parent or child's birthday, baby shower, or just because. FAN FAVORITE: Proclaimed "fun for the whole family" by the Family Choice Awards and lauded by the Geeks of Doom as a “fun, appropriate gift for the child in your life, and an even more adorable gift for the adult Star Wars fans out there.” Perfect for: Star Wars fans of all ages Readers who enjoy the Vader and Family series Parents who want a humorous alternative to traditional goodnight books Father’s Day gifts for dads who love Star Wars and sharing bedtime stories with their kids Pairing with other books in the series or Star Wars Dad Jokes to create a fun fan gift set Review: Creative and amusing - This book was so cute! excellent gift for any star wars fan with little ones.....
I bought this as a xmas gift for my friend to read to his kid for bed time. he got a good laugh out of the book as it mentions quite a few characters and adds cute lil rhymes to the mix. I read it myself and thought it was cute as well. this is a must have for any sw fan.

Nerdy must
unlike his other books, this is told as a narrative. In trying to convince Luke and Leia to go to bed, darth vader says "goodnight" to individuals around the Galaxy. Each page is humorous and delightful for any Star Wars fan, and no two pages must be read back to back, which is great for younger children. My son who's two loves darth vader, but it's hard for him to sit through the entire book, so I'll skip a page here or there. "Good night falcon, don't let the space slug bite."

Finally, a nice Goodnight book in the Star Wars universe
This is basically a Goodnight book in the world of Star Wars, Jeffrey Brown's style. I like it as a Goodnight book, but there are better in this market. It also works as a Star Wars book that you can peruse for a chuckle. This is a could-have if your kid already love Star Wars characters, you are a fervent Star Wars collector or you like Jeffrey Brown art. Goodnight Darth Vader is a departure of previous instances such as Darth Vader and Son or Jedi Academy. Indeed, this is a book intended to be read to your kid or with your kid to put him in the mood for sleep. Therefore, there is no Star Wars action on it. SPOILERS :) The book starts with Darth Vader trying to get Leia and Luke to sleep and ends with Darth Vader, Luke and Leia falling asleep and the mandatory goodnight to each of them. What is in between is a collection of various scenes (I counted 26) where characters from the Star Wars universe are going to sleep presented within two pages and a rhyme on each. Sometimes the rhyme doesn't work, but the art remains interesting. It's worth mentioning that this book include character from the the prequels, clone wars and the original trilogy, which is very cool. So overall, your milage may vary. I like this book for what it is. However, for a quick chuckle, I prefer Darth Vader and Son or Vader's Little Princess.

Different from Darth Vader and Son
This is a remake of Goodnight Moon. Maybe that is obvious to some people, but it was not obvious to me. The flow and structure is different than Darth Vader & Son. DV&S has a new scene on every page, unrelated to the previous page's scene. This book, by contrast, starts with an over-aching plot for the first couple of pages and revisited at the end, about Vader reading a bedtime story. What follows are two-frame spreads where two pages complete each idea about a Star Wars character and their particular bedtime scenario. It's a cute book, but not quite the bang for the buck that you get if you have both the Darth Vader and Son book as well as the calendar (they don't copy each other exactly). Regardless of Goodnight Darth Vader not being my favorite, I do plan to continue to collect all the books in this series. My 3yo son knows the characters, and I know the jokes, so it's a win-win. Strong work overall!
