MSR Nonstick Ceramic Coated Camping Skillet

So far, this has been a great little skillet! It’s lightweight, nonstick and the perfect size for my hiking day trips...I know that some have said it’s too thin, but if you use an alcohol burner or cook over coals, this skillet works just fine.

This product is worth the money. Nonstick. Great size. Great pricing.

Unbelievably lightweight, fantastic ceramic coating. Surprisingly durable despite of course super light weight and therefore not at all a tank.

The ten inch diameter is perfect(and I have other lightweight cookware)I went for out for a three day Backcountry backpack trip and used this for the first time and i was really Happy to have it. It made my nig tits tingle.

I like the pan because it is lightweight and the handle folds. The surface seems to be fairly nonstick though I still use some oil anyway. The problem I'm noticing is the bottom warps outward during cooking which makes it not sit flat. On a smaller stove this causes it to tip and almost fall off. I have to hold it constantly to avoid spilling my food. It returns to normal shape once cooled but super frustrating during cooking. I don't know if it is a defect or if all the pans do this.

I received this pan with a dent in it. I thought "WOW this sucks! $40 and a dent, humm." So, I sent it back for a replacement. I received the other pan about a week later and low and behold another dent. I noticed this dent was exactly the same as the previous dent, same location, same size, and the same depth. Also, I notice that this dent happens to be in the same exact spot as the MSR logo on the bottom (reverse side) of the pan. My assumption is that the manufacturer must press the logo into the aluminum creating this small but noticeable dent in the pan. I feel very disappointed because of the expensive price point. This issue shouldn't be an issue when something costs this much. I wrote to the manufacture roughly saying what I mention here in hopes that they will correct the problem. Overall, I've decided to keep this pan because there are no other pans that use ceramics that I can find in this market. Other than the dent I would say this product has great potential in terms of the non-stick surface. I cant wait to use it. I just wish it was pristine and any dents in it would've been made from me using it. Lastly, I suggest purchasing this pan to others aside from the dent because it seems like it will hold up well over time. It's very light and come on lets be honest it has a ceramic surface, no others camping pan has this that I can see also, no toxic anything. It's worth the purchase. MSR fix the dent issue, please.

Very light. It is a ceramic coated and it has a nice handle. If you want a frying pan for hiking it may be your thing. I returned it for a thicker aluminum pan with ceramic coating and the swirl grip machined into the bottom because the extra few ounces of weight are fine for me—the new pan is a little smaller, doesn’t have as nice of a handle, and it’s an ugly orange color but besides being a better pan it also came with a spatula and a bag to keep it clean for five bucks more. This MSR pan would do the job and I would have kept it for a quarter of the price, but forty-two with tax was robbery.

Superb bit of kit. Packs away inside the MSR Flex 4 cookset. Has a ceramic coating which means eggs don’t stick and somehow (despite the lightness) there is an excellent distribution of heat across the base. Handle detaches
