What in the world? Our kitty loves it!
The media could not be loaded. Arrived yesterday, was skeptical about it's effects ... I'm not anymore, we had just arrived home after the package was delivered, our kitty went NUTS. We adopted her about 6 weeks ago and she is 2, wish I'd have known about this a little sooner. Marvelous product at a fantastic price, and has great results for our kitty. Great alternative to dried catnip.I did use tips shared about shaving a little off before offering to the kitty and that did help. Each stick is going to last a while, great value for money. Will buy again.

Cat was impressed, and attentive---for about 30 seconds
My cat does not go gaga for long over catnip. His attention span is rather short; he plays for a couple of minutes, and then ignores it.When I gave him the first silvervine stick, he went gaga over it, and then---nothing. No interest at all. Would not go back to it, and on giving him some other sticks, he paid attention for a few seconds and then walked off.Your mileage may vary since, after all, cats' tastes vary. It might be the thing for you, it might not. It's worth a try . . .

Soothing, great chew toy but freshness fades within few days until stick broken in half
When I opened the bag I wasn’t sure what to expect besides the positive reviews I read, especially one review who commented that his/her cat acts like a kitten. It first takes a moment to introduce the stick to my 11.5 year old. After a few minutes of sniffing, he started to play and roll in it. He didn’t chew it until I introduced it to his mouth. He doesn’t take the stick on his own until I give it to him. He likes to scratch his head/face on it, and also chew it. I feel like this works better than catnip because he can also chew it.What I was surprised though is that he didn’t seem to like it after two days, as if it wasn’t fresh anymore (why I gave 4 stars). However when I broke the stick in half he picked up the same good feeling behaviors.I wish this stick was longer, thicker and freshness because obviously it didn’t work as well as first day. And it’s only been a few days.I might consider even scoring the stick to bring out the freshness/scent for kitty.

If your cat doesn't like these at first, try peeling them.
My cat is so-so about catnip, and at first he was so-so about these sticks, too. But once I FINALLY read the instructions, I realized you're supposed to peel away some of the outer "skin" on the stick... to better release its volatile oils or fragrance, I suppose. Once I started doing that, my cat became much more enthusiastic. Depending on the day, his behaviors range from grabbing the stick from me to nibble briefly, to flinging it around and actively playing with it.These also last a long time, because once the stick has dried out a bit, you just peel it again. The "skin" comes off very easily under short fingernails.

Better than I expected!
I wasn't sure how strong the catnip scent would be, how long it would last, or how my cats would react. Like with so many toys and treats for cats, you can only try.Surprisingly, the catnip scent must be pretty strong and last a long time, as several of my cats love playing with these. They chew all the bark off, but will return to play with the sticks from time to time even when they get old.Unfortunately my cat who has the chewing problems isn't so interested, but enough other cats are interested that I'll pick up more of these.

Anybody want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge
It was a lot of money for a package of sticks that I could’ve picked up in my backyard. Like other reviewer‘s here, my cat wasn’t interested in them at all until I took the bark off and made it smooth. He’s a chewer so if I put it up in his face he might take a few chomps on it but no more so than any other stick.

Kind of lost the scent, cat uninterested after a couple of hours.
So I tried it on 4 cats, only one like it and went nuts when he smelled it, started playing and biting it immediately, after a couple of hours he seemed so uninterested in the stick I gave him and I tried smelling it, the thing smelled like nothing, I grabbed a new one from the packet and it smelled kind of like catnip, I gave him the new one and he went nuts again, I offered him the old one and he had no reaction. I'm not sure how to feel about these specific items, maybe they were old ones or something. Will try a different brand and see how they like them.
