I love Darn tough socks. These are lightweight. M good for size 8.5. I would get L if size 9. The ankle fits, but is tighter than my mid weight, Darn tough but different style. Darn tough socks can be worn several times before needing to be washed. Excellent for hiking.

Bought these as a gift for my daughter and they are her new favorite sox! She loves the fit, softness of the fabric and the vibrant colors.

These are some of my favorite socks, Darn Tough never disappoints. Perfect cushioning for med/long hikes in moderate cold environments.

I always like Darn Tough socks, and typically they hold up well for me. I enjoy the fit and feeling when I hike in them, and these socks are very comfortable to wear on backpacking trips. Unfortunately, the back of one sock (near the top of my heel) got a small hole in it after about 14 miles of hiking, which was disappointing. I'm still going to wear them because they're overall nice and great for the trails I like to do. Just hoping the the hole doesn't continue to grow. I'd still recommend this brand to hikers, as I feel that the hole is not something I've had a problem with in the past. Comfortable, warm without being smothering, and very cool looking and vibrant colors.
