This is the best French textbook to learn French by immersion in the language right from the first lessons. If you master the three parts, you will be a fluent speaker of French. I remember this manual from years ago when I lived in Poland. I attended the French course at a local Book Club, twice a week. The teacher was using this manual. There is also the Grammar Book, but here in America its use will not be extensive as people are happy when they are able to communicate knowing the grammar more or less. In Poland when I was a student of the French Philology, the grammar was extremely important. I did not have luck because my French language professor, Izabella Zatorska, did not like me and gave me a B instead of A on the oral exam where I gave proof of the most fluent and correct French language knowledge. She corrected every paper I submitted even when the sentences were correct, she still corrected me. In Poland, the students don't have any power over the professors. There are oral exams where the professor asks you questions from his head nad he can choose one or two or three that you will not be able to answer, and you receive an F. You may know everything, and if the professor does not like you, he will give you an F anyway. No recourse for the student except taking the second, last exam. If you fail at the first year, you are thrown out of university. Minister Gowin wants now that the studies take 7 years to complete. This is crazy. Poland has a very rigorous academia, yet it causes stress to students, and it ends in poor employment and economy. That is why I like USA. You can get a two year degree, four year degree and if interested you can go for masters. Professors are friendly and they will help you to do well. Forget it in Poland.

I like them WAY better than the red book we used when I took classes at the Alliance Francaise (a while back). I don't know what books they are using now.

This is the book that was used by my elementary school for our French class. This was more of nostalgia buy for me. It has 4 volumes. I own the first 2. I think it works well for introduction to French language basics. I just wanted to have these in my personal collection.

Just as I remembered it when I was a student. Now, I am the teacher and happy to have it as a reference here in the US, as I studied from it in Switzerland.

Had this book in grade school, it is familiar and very helpful in recapturing some French fluency.

Through the years I still have not really found a French teaching book with the quality of this, the reason is, everything is in French which in my opinion that's the reason every student expects and the teachers too.

Son muy buenos libros

Ouvrage agréé par l'Alliance Française, ce deuxième tome prolonge la découverte grammaticale et culturelle du premier livre. L'emploi de temps simples et composés et l'exploration des autres modes donne un aspect plus réaliste des conversations en français.L'ouvrage, conçu au début du XX° siècle, est daté quant aux exemples de la vie courante, mais ce n'est nullement un inconvénient sur la plan pédagogique ; cela confère un petit parfum "d'avant-guerre" pas si désagréable !

Merci! J'ai bien recu ce livre dans les delais prevus et l'apprecie beaucoup. J'en ai deja le tome I et suis enchantee de celui-ci que j'utilise pour enseigner le francais a ma petite fille de onze ans. Les regles de grammaire y sont tres clairement expliquees et les exercices permettent de les appliquer. Ma petite fille et moi en sommes ravies. MERCI!
