Save that old controller!!!
I've had my PS4 (Uncharted edition) since the release in 2015. Nine years later, my controller still worked fine, but recently stopped taking or holding a charge. I thought it may be time to retire the poor thing and get a new one. I was kinda bummed about having a controller that didn't match the system's custom color/design. I learned you can replace the battery so I tried these in an attempt to save the controller.Swapping it out was easy. Unscrew the 4 screws in the back of the controller with the provided screwdriver. Use the trim tool to work your way around the case until the two halves separate. Lay it open (the top will still be wired to the bottom so don't go nuts) and simply lift out the old battery. Grab the plug and gently pull, and it pops out.Take the new battery, select the correct plug (mine used the small one), and plug it in. Tuck the extra wire alongside the first so it's out of the way, and put the two halves back together. Screw the 4 screws back in and you're done.My old controller is as good as new, and takes/holds a charge now. It's been saved. No special skills, no special tools. I can't believe it was that simple.

Easy swap
The batteries are simple to swap. Batteries were fully charged upon swap. No issues whatsoever. Very happy with purchase.

Great customer service and batteries!
Ordered these to revive "dead" controllers lying around for years, batteries drained and unable to charge.Used both batteries, and one of them had a slow trickle charge. Reached out to the seller and was promptly taken care of. They took pride in the product and said the concern would be brought to the manufacturer's attention.I got a replacement and they are working great!Battery life is +5 hours, depending on game. Playing Puyo Puyo Tetris lasted longer, but Mafia Definitive Edition (or other shooter genre) used a lot more with all the rumbles and dual analog stick usage.Like the description said, there are two different style of tools, but preferably I like the one with the green screwdriver handle (the only one I used) along with the metal trim tool.Matching the connector to the OEM battery made installation simple. One thing to look out for is the shoulder buttons coming completely off, along with the metal spring trigger sliding out. That was a pain to figure out and put back together. Carefully opening controller like a clam shell helped, while double checking shoulder buttons are still in place. Second battery replacement was much easier. Will update if these batteries do not last over a year.

Decent batteries
These batteries have two possible connection types; one for the old dualshock version and one for the new version, I have one of each. The new version dualshock is working great and has good battery life. The old version isn't faring as well, the battery only lasts a couple of hours and I've been experiencing some odd behavior out of the thumbsticks. Before swapping out the batteries, my controllers were working perfectly but the battery life was suffering, just due to age. Overall, if you have the new ds4 version, I would absolutely recommend these batteries, but not the old version. You can easily tell the difference by looking at the lightbar, you can see a sliver of the light through the TouchPad on the new version. There is also a difference in the numbers on the back of the controller, that can be easily looked up in a web search.

Works great to replace dead ones
The installation was a bit tricky at first, but after watching a couple of YouTube videos, I managed to get it done without too much hassle. The kit even comes with a small tool set, which was really helpful. The batteries themselves work great. They hold a charge much longer than the original ones(that had recently only kept a charge for 5 minutes). I haven’t noticed any issues with overheating or anything like that.

The batteries didn't hold up well for me, but the company did take care of it
Update (2024-08-24): A few days after I posted the original review, the seller contacted me with an offer to replace or refund my order. I happened to opt for a refund because I don't want to keep opening up the controller, and the company issued the refund about a day later.Original:The first battery I installed began failing after about a month, and the controller starts powering off even with a cable attached. I had to install the second new battery during a livestream, so I'm naturally worried the second one isn't long for this world either. After playing just one day since replacing the battery, I plugged in the controller to charge it to full, but it was still at 2/3 full the next day. The playstation shows a charging animation while the controller is plugged in, so it clearly thinks the battery is charging, but it's evidently not capable of holding the charge for long.

More than I could have hoped for
I'm so glad it has two connectors. Apparently I have both old and new styles of controllers. Both fit well and we're even charged. We'll see how long the single charge lasts.

DOA and bad fit lead to both controllers breaking
I never leave reviews, but my experience has been so bad with this product that I really don't have a choice. Installing the new batteries was pretty straightforward, but once they were swapped...nothing. Neither controller would power on or accept a charge from either ports. Frustrating, but it happens. Then I went to remove the batteries. The fit of the connector is so tight that the only way to remove was with a pair of needle nose pliers, breaking both inputs in the process. I've broken down and rebuilt many computers, consoles, etc in my life-this is by far the most frustrating product I've had the displeasure of trying to use. The connector is just too big (at least for the larger of the two connectors), so if you wind up with a defective battery, you might be out of luck like I am and be stuck with two broken controllers. If you have a newer style controller with the small connector, maybe your experience would be different, but I'd steer very clear if you're trying to upgrade an og dualshock 4.
