I've been a committed stretcher all of my life. As Bob A. notes in one of his books, you need to do four things for a well rounded physical life: stretch; do cardio; do resistance training; and, eat well. Anderson has the stretching down. I highly recommend this book, or any of his books. Well done, Bob. Thanks for the help. Review: Still a great book! - Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. My previous version was falling apart, I'm so glad I was able to find the updated version!

Classic! Glad to hear it's still available and being kept current.
I had stumbled upon this Stretching book decades ago -- in my twenties -- as a serious amateur soccer player. It's a simple book but I found it VERY helpful in improving my flexibility and body awareness in a way that improved my 'reach". I felt like it helped me comfortably stretch out a little further and reach balls that others probably couldn't reach. I loaned it to a friend or daughter at some point... and never got it back. Now I'm retired and have more time to pay attention to physical activity again. I'm thrilled the book is still available, and not surprised it's considered a classic.

Excellent update!
I bought the original 1980 version of this book a long time ago, and have referred to it many times over the years. Since there are probably updated things in the newest version, I decided to buy the 40th Anniversary/2020 Edition of Stretching, which clocks in at 239 pages versus 192 pages in the old edition. So far it looks like a great update to the one I currently have. Rant: One star off for a some permanent bends on the front cover and an inch-long tear on the back cover. I'm seeing more and more items arrive damaged from Amazon. I order Zevia products from Amazon on a regular basis, and more and more I get the wrong item or smashed-in (but not leaking) cans. Sometimes I complain to Customer Service and they refund the product cost, and sometimes I just deal with it. And sometimes Customer Service says they'll refund or replace the item as a "one-time courtesy." Really? For an item that you deliver to me that's damaged? Annoying.

Classic, and still the best.
My favorite book for stretching. I like the overall approach, and each stretch has a good narrative description of how to do it, and nice hand drawn pictures.

Everyone needs this book!
Best stretching book ever made. Have one that is ancient. My husband brought it into our marriage. Treated myself to the spiral bound and am so glad I did. Easy to use.

Keep those muscles mobile - just stretch
As a massage therapist some clients often ask me, do you recommend stretching!! I am an advocate of stretching and as we age this practice becomes even more important in order to stay mobile. I had several additions and love the illustrations. Client take pictures depending on the activities they have!!
