Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation [Blu-ray] [Region Free]

I am not a big fan of Tom Cruise the man. But I have to admit that I really like his movies. And when you add Rebecca Ferguson to the mix, "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is an absolute winner. Cruise rarely gets to show what a skilled actor he really is since most of his roles- especially lately - are more physical than intellectual but that's not really a drawback in my opinion: He is brilliant when it comes to action movies and the fact that he does most of his own stunts only adds to their appeal. That's true in this film, which could almost be accused of being a James Bond clone with its worldwide criminal/terrorist organization attacking anyone and everyone and a beautiful heroine who is a crack shot, an expert knife fighter, and martial artist. Ferguson, as Ilsa Faust, is a delight to watch and a perfect complement to Cruise's generally low-key portrayal of IMF agent Ethan Hunt. Cruise and Ferguson work well together and I would love to see them in a subsequent film. Mission Impossible regulars Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, and Jeremy Renner are back and do a wonderful job in supporting roles as does franchise newcomer Alec Baldwin as the director of the CIA. Sean Harris, as head of the terrorist organization Solomon Kane, is very good in the role in which he matches Cruise's understated menace with his own soft-spoken villainy. Great action sequences - including a spectacular motorcycle chase - and excellent fight scenes - especially Ferguson's knife duel with Jens Hulten as bad guy Janik Vinter - make this a must see for anyone in the mood for a pulse-pounding, adrenaline-fueled night at the movies.

I have been rewatching the MI movies since seeing the latest, The Last Reckoning. They have not disappointed, just as this one, Rogue Nation, has been a blast to watch. I always enjoy the twist and turns and the way they are able to cary on the, well, impossible. What I especially like is that even though Ethan Hunt is apparently indestructible, he almost always comes near so if not for the several helps he get from both ally and the unexpected.

Why are you deliberating? Watch it. It is safe for the whole family, minus perhaps very young viewers (slight spoiler mentioned at the bottom). There are so many excellent features to this movie. The action really is top notch. The motorcycle chase is the first time in quite a while that I was put to the edge of my seat and I had to keep guessing as to the conclusion throughout the film. Mr. Cruise's character, Ethan Hunt, is the perfect hero: There is no existential angst concerning ultimate issues, nor postmodern paradox about right and wrong. Ethan Hunt settled those issues long ago and fights for good against a clearly defined evil, and is happy to leave those issues to Tony Stark and this film's villain. I was highly entertained from start to finish. **************SLIGHT SPOILER for those concerned with family friendliness********* There is a scene which occurs at 1:10:53 through 1:10:57 (just under 5 seconds) in which a woman in panties removes her shirt for non-sexual reasons and the camera views her from behind for about 2 seconds.

My husband and I recently became obsessed with the mission impossible series. This was a really fun watch, good deal for rental.

Every time a new Mission: Impossible movie comes out, I groan at the fact that Tom Cruise is still involved. After watching each movie, I'm reminded of why he's the perfect man for the job. This is the best M:I movie yet and it features the perfect mix of suspense and action. This is actually what one refers to when they mention the term "spy movie." It's not all explosions and cool gadgets (Why weren't there more cool gadgets? Can I get that unlocking mechanism for my car?) as we've come to expect in recent years -- the characters have depth and you see them performing in situations that aren't always spectacular. I'm a fan of the original series as well as these movies (which, for me, exist in two separate universes). You'll enjoy this movie even if you don't fit into either category. Plus, they brought back Luther. You can never go wrong with Luther. I only wish they'd had room for Maggie Q to return as well.

This is the most exciting movie in the Mission Impossible Series. You can't take your eyes off the screen for a second because you will miss something truly amazing. The addition of Rebecca Ferguson as Isla Faust throws an interesting mix into the plot and cast of characters. She keeps you guessing as to which side she is on. The main threat the Mission Impossible Team is fighting is a rogue group called the Syndicate who is just as skilled as the Mission Impossible team. The Syndicate has some very dangerous plans the the IMF has to shut down but of course it is hard to find members of The Syndicate. Ethan Hunt and Isla Faust do this dance where Isla gives him some clues but then disappears and acts in a way that confuses Ethan, not just the viewers. The stunts are out of this world in this movie. It is worth seeing the movie just for the stunts. Almost everyone has seen the previews where Tom Cruise is attached to the outside of a plane. Yes, Tom really did do this stunt. Another amazing stunt is where Tom holds his breath in a tank for several minutes while accomplishing a task important to the mission. Alec Baldwin is a nice addition as Alan Hunley of the CIA. He wants to shut down the IMF. Simon Pegg is back and is so funny. The rest of the team is back too such as Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames. The rapport the team has together is so much fun to see. One really fun scene is where Tom is driving a car at high speeds and Simon Pegg is in the car and the dialogue between the two is hilarious. A scene in court where Alan Hunley tries to make a case for shutting down the IMF is pretty funny too as Ethan and the team come up with answers that defy Hunley at every turn. If you love Tom Cruise and action packed movies, you must see this movie.

Globe trotting around the world- beautiful countries, exotic locations. This movie has everything- action, adventure, gunfire, car/motorcycle chases, how long can you hold your breath for, masks, deception and revenge is dish best served cold 🥶

Als Filmfan, der zeitbedingt selbst noch kaum ins Kino kommt, aber das Glück hat, ein Heimkino sein Eigen zu nennen, bin ich bei Rezensionen zu Filmen weniger an der Geschichte bzw. dem Inhalt interessiert, den finde ich auf anderen Plattformen im Netz gut rezensiert bzw. kritisch gewürdigt, sondern eher an der technischen Umsetzung des Films, insbesondere was Bild und Ton angeht. Daher gehen meine kurzen Rezensionen nicht bzw. nur sehr selten auf den Inhalt ein, sondern geben kurz und knapp meine Wahrnehmung der Bild- und Tonqualität wieder; hier und da mit Blick auf Szenen oder Filmteile, die besonders imposant umgesetzt sind - hier bietet sich dann z.B. ein Vorführen des Heimkinos bzw. das Austesten von Lautsprecher oder Beamer an. Von daher sind meine Rezensionen alles andere als vollständig, geben dem ein oder anderen aber vielleicht genau den Tip, den sie oder er gerade sucht. Bildqualität: Mission Impossible : Rogue Nation offeriert ähnlich wie bereits der Vorgänger "Mission Impossible - Phantom Protocol" ein in weiten Teilen des Films absolut harmonisch umgesetztes Bild mit tollen Farbkontrasten. Die Farbgebung ist Ausgestaltung ist eher natürlich, ohne starke Filter oder sonstige Veränderungen. Farben werden zwar natürlich, aber mit einer angenehmen Brillianz und Leuchtkraft dargestellt. Der Film bietet eine angenehme, nicht zu aufdringliche Bildschärfe; Artefakte, Bildrauschen oder "Griseln" konnte ich beim Betrachten auf Leinwandgröße kaum ausmachen. Die Tiefenschärfe sowie Nahaufnahmen gelingen sehr ordentlich; Unschärfen - die nicht gewollt waren - habe ich nicht erkennen können. Das Gesamtbild ist sehr gefällig, ohne Farbabweichungen in bestimmte Skalen oder künstliche Veränderungen; das Hinschauen macht Spaß. Die Einbettung der CGI gelingt in allen Teilen des Films hervorragend. Die hochwertigen Effekte fügen sich sehr gut in das "authentische" Filmmaterial ein. Sehr gut umgesetzt. Tonqualität: Soundtechnisch kann der Film - ich beziehe mich auf die Englische Fassung in DD 5.1 - absolut begeistern. Der Rocklastige Musicscore ist sehr gut abgemischt und in die sonstige Klang- und Effektkulisse sauber integriert. Die Stimmwiedergabe läuft sauber und gut eingepegelt über den Center; die Dialoge gliedern sich hervorragend in die Gesamtsoundkulisse ein ohne weder in effektlastigen Szenen unterzugehen, noch zu dominant zu wirken. Hier wurde sehr hervorragend gearbeitet. Die Codierung liefert in einem 5.1 Heimkino einen sehr solide und sorgfältig abgemischten Ton. Insgesamt wird ein sehr breiter, angenehm von den Boxen abgelöster Klang erreicht; keine LS wirken aufdringlich oder in bestimmten Teilen des Films überbeansprucht. Die Surroundspeaker schaffen ein sehr räumliches Klangbild, das in vielen Szenen sinnvoll eingesetzt wird - als besonderes Highlight empfinde ich akkustische Umsetzung der Vorgeschichte; hier insbesondere den Start des Transportflugzeuges, auf das unser Protagonist während des Starts aufspringt. Bereits die einleitenden Dialoge von Benji und Luther sind effektvoll eingefangen; den Kontrapunkt bietet der Bass- und Effektlastige Start des Fliegers; hier werden die Surroundboxen hervorragend eingesetzt, es kommt zu einer tollen 360 Grad Klangkulisse; insbesondere aber auch den Subwoofer merkt man bis in die Magengrube spürbar. In dieser Szene wird von hohen bis tiefen Frequenzen jeder Lautsprecher gefordert und zur Leistung ermuntert. So macht Heimkino Spaß. Diese Szene würde ich für das Austesten des Heimkinos definitiv als Referenz erachten. Toll! In der BluRay Fassung liegt eine sehr sorgfältige technische Umsetzung vor, die den Kauf der BluRay m.E. absolut rechtfertigt; hier erhält man einen Film mit Aspirationen zum Referenzmaterial, mit dem das Austesten bzw. Vorführen des eigenen Heimkinos sicherlich gelingt.

Che dire, semplicemente FANTASTICO, una delle più belle saghe adrenalitiche, mozzafiato, spettacolari e convincenti della storia del cinema. Tom Cruise è fenomenale, una garanzia. Un film d'azione senza tregua. ottima la regia, buono l'audio e le immagini. Da collezionare.

Über den Film selbst will ich gar nicht viel sagen, da kann sich schließlich jeder selbst zu auf Kritiker-Portalen (Metacritic, Rotten Tomatoes) professionelle Meinungen anschauen. Mir persönlich hat der Film sehr gut gefallen, sonst hätte ich mir das Steelbook auch nicht bestellt. Für Leute wie mich, die Thriller sehr gerne schauen und Wert auf Dialoge legen, ist der Film zu empfehlen. Nun zum Steelbook selbst: Zunächst war ich sehr von Amazon enttäuscht, da mein Rogue Nation Steelbook erst am 21.12.2015 ankam (Release Date war 17.12.2015). Na gut, ist zur Weihnachtszeit und hat mit dem Film an sich rein gar nichts zu tun. Außerdem wurden mir 5,00 Euro erstattet, da der Preis von 29,99 Euro (Vorbestellerpreis) auf 24,99 Euro gesenkt wurde. Soweit so gut. Das Steelbook selbst kommt mit einem abziehbaren FSK-Sticker und einem zusätzlichen "Papp-Schild", das mit Klebe-Noppen am oberen Vorseitenrand und der Rückseite befestigt ist. Alle Klebespuren, die nach dem Abziehen vorhanden waren, konnte ich ohne größere Mühe mit einem Mikrofasertuch entfernen. Der "Mission: Impossible"-Schriftzug ist geprägt, "Tom Cruise" und "Rogue Nation" sind aufgedruckt, ebenso das IMF-Siegel auf der Rückseite. Beim Abspielen beider Blu-rays sind mir folgende Punkte positiv aufgefallen: - kein nerviger Trailer eines anderen Film vor den Film-Menüs. - sehr gute Bildqualität. Das Bild ist in teal&orange blockbustertypisch eingefärbt. Das mag manchen missfallen, allerdings hatte ich Rogue Nation zuvor bei Amazon (Instant) Video ausgeliehen, wo mir das farbschwache Bild überhaupt nicht gefiel. - in meinen Augen sehr guter, angenehmer Sound in der deutschen Synchronisation. Ich weiß, dass andere den Sound bemängeln, wegen der geringen Dynamik und Tiefe, zweifelsohne die Folge einer hohen Soundkompression, ABER ich mag das. Es gibt Filme, bei denen man ständig bei Action-Szenen leiser schalten muss, weil man bei den Dialogen zuvor den Sound aufreißen musste. Dies ist hier nicht der Fall. Einmal den richtigen Soundpegel zu Beginn finden und schon muss man nichts mehr nachjustieren. In meinen Augen sehr angenehm und benutzerorientiert. Wer es nicht mag, soll sich halt die englische Fassung mit Dolby Atmos anschauen. Diese soll über weitaus mehr Dynamik und Wumps verfügen. - viele Extras (über 45 Minuten auf der Film-Disc, rund 70 Minuten auf der Bonus-Disc), die ich mir leider noch nicht alle anschauen konnte, aber auf meinen Fotos festgehalten habe. Das wären meine persönlichen Eindrücke. Ich hoffe, dass die Bilder bei der Kaufentscheidung hilfreich sind.
