Exciting
I thought we had explored every place in this world, but there is so much more. The places visited in this series are visually stunning. Steve Backshaw is real. He is knowledgeable, courageous, and daring. And more than that - he assembles great teams who really care about each other. LOVE this series!

Superb drone photography of worldclass vistas
This is a very very good adventure/nature series. What really makes this series so good is the aerial drone camera work. It's one thing to fly over the rim of a 400 foot waterfall looking straight down, but it's quite another thing to see a tiny tiny person descending down this waterfall on a rope! We've all seen aerials of cliff rockfaces that look just unimaginably vertical, but again it's quite another thing all together to see this eentsy-weentsy person lowering themselves down the overhang. Absolutely unmatched aerial photography. I'm not so crazy about the host of the series, Steve Backshall, who makes WAY too many grandiose statements about being the "first person to explore" whatever it is they are about to explore. C'mon now! Nonetheless, I am very glad to include this series in my video collection, if for nothing else but the unique aerial photography of wilderness at its finest. Just stunning work.

Best Nature Documentary Ever
Steven Backshaw is my hero. This guy is a legend. Love natures, shows nature, and makes you smile at the same time. Keep up the good work!

Fake
This show is so fake, dramatizing every small aspect.

No drama for the sake of drama.
Steve is the real deal.

Stunning cinematography and gripping adventures
Brilliant series that we love to watch as a family. Incredible cinematography and adventure in some of the most remote and bio diverse places on Earth. Steve's enthusiasm and love of the natural world is coupled with his friendly demeanor and trusting friends such as former Royal Marine Aldo Kane. I hope there is a 2nd series/season and more unknown places could be discovered. I would recommend rural Canada, Antarctica, Cameroon, Auckland Islands NZ.

Mildly interesting
Was hoping for something more compelling - as a previous reviewer said all sorts of ominous predictions of what could happen that never does. Plus Steve Backshall gives me the impression he's trying to be a Nigel Marvin clone.

This DVD would not play in Ireland
We were really looking forward to watching the expedition series. Unfortunately the DVD would not play when it arrived. We googled the problem, and tried every which way to fix it, but the PBS DVD is just not compatible. I feel this item just should not be for sale on the Amazon.co.uk website.Very disappointing.
