I purchased this model Brainerd hinge to replace Mepla contractor grade hinges for my (3/4" face-frame) kitchen cabinet doors, which have Euro-style hidden hinges with a 5/8" overlay. These proved to be an exact fit replacement for me. The Meplas were hard to adjust and did not hold their settings, leaving uneven doors. The setting mechanism also broke on a number of them. These are much better designed for that purpose. They also have a screw to adjust the 5/8" overlay a small amount as necessary to fit an existing mount (which was important for me). Unlike the Meplas, you don't have to purchase a face-frame adapter plate which sticks into the cabinet; i.e., they look a whole lot better. Since they don't require an adapter plate, they also cost a good bit less than the Mepla types. They appear to be of comparable quality to the Meplas and the hinge action is at least as good. I'm completely satisfied with them.As an addendum, for hidden hinge doors, cabinet makers in the US typically use Euro-style hinges on 3/4" face-frames. A face-frame is just a facing around the cabinet opening to give it a more solid look. Face-frame cabinets are common in the US and the exposed hinge models in older homes are often retro-fitted with overlay doors that use hidden Euro-style hinges to provide an updated look. A 1/2" or 5/8" overlay is typical (easy to measure ... just close the door and see how far it is from the edge of the door to the face frame opening - it's an important measure for double doors to meet correctly in the middle). Fortunately, there seems to be common agreement on the round flat bottom (Forstner bit) hole in the cabinet door used to mount a Euro-style hinge, which simplifies replacing this kind of door hinge. If you have 3/4" face-frame doors with Euro-style hinges that have an approximate 5/8" overlay, these will probably work for your cabinets as well.

Quite sturdy and fairly easy to install. The only problem is the large counter sink which can be a little tricky.

I had 3 cabinets with broken hinges. It was time to get fixed. bought hinge from home depot and it would not fit. These fit the European style door. Also a little adjustable if the hole was not cut in the exact right spot. I don't like to fix things since I have no patience. These are a breeze to fix. No need to get a handyman as long as you have a screw driver. One person job. Simple and done kitchen looks normal again.

When my cabinet door fell off I was very, very, very not happy. My kitchen looked bad missing a door... The worst. People kept telling me that I needed to do something about it so I buy these hinges. Trust me, these hinges are great. The best. Almost as good as the ones my hotels use. Almost.I don't know if they were made with American Steel but they seem very not cheap. Many, many people compliment these hinges at my home. Hundreds of people from around the world. The best people. Thanks to Brainerd we have the best hinges ladies and gentlemen.

The hinge on my armoire broke due to cheap metal on the baking plate. Just call it metal fatigue. I have seen this happen to handles and knobs on many of the furniture pieces I have purchased over the years.This fit perfect. Using the picture the lower one is the one that I replaced. And now I have replaced all four of the original hinges and have one left over since this was a two pack. As you can see this fits a 3/4 face frame. Hope that helps.

The screws aren't metal. One broke while using the electric driver and the inside was like a white plastic. I had to use the screws from my old hinges.
