Never boring!
This is a wonderful cardio workout! No equipment is necessary just a lot of room and a lot of oxygen. I had to do this a few times to really get the moves down and see where she was going with some of the moves, but the more I do this, the more fun factor it has for me. It does seem long, but when you get to the stretch you feel so proud of yourself and you KNOW you burned a TON of calories. This is not a short workout and it is not for beginners. Some of the moves can take a while to catch on, but if you stick with it, you'll learn the routine in no time. This is my only Amy workout, but I really get the feel that she is a good instructor and knows her stuff.

Too frantic and not aerobic enough
I returned this video after watching it one time. You need a lot, and I mean a lot of space to move around in to do all the moves. I thought the movements were frantic and poorly cued. The language used for various moves was not standard for workouts although perhaps for a dance crowd. Also, by the middle of the tape I had not yet broken a sweat, and I am not in that great of shape. I just didn't think it was getting my heart rate in an aerobic zone.

Not what I expected
There is no cueing what so ever in this workout, so unless you do this workout a few times you will have to really try to figure out her steps. She doesn't break the moves down and it's a complete space hog. Unless you have a lot of room several of the moves are difficult to perform. I tried doing this in my workout space in my basement and found I don't have enough space. It's very high energy but I think had the moves been broken down before going full throttle it would have been more enjoyable. This one is at the bottom of my pile and doubtful I'll be using this any time in the future.

Burns Mega Calories!!
The only reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is because it is not easy to follow at first. If you hang in there, you will get a GREAT workout and burn mega calories. There are so many times that my body wants to stop mid-way through, but then the music changes and it pumps me right back up. The ski jumps at the end are killer!!!

Great stamina!
This dvd is great and perfect for building stamina! I also appreciate the music, sometimes I feel to mute it and just workout, but the music when moving fast was very fun. :)

Workout Review
This is a great workout. The upbeat music keeps you right on track, but it takes about two workouts to pick up the steps since there is not an explanation or demo before the routine. I would recommend this for the intermediate/experienced level.

Love this video!
If you want a different kind of workout-- but that works you hard- this is great! Amy has four different combos, which are not too dificult to pick up (which I have found with some of Cathe's videos) and that give you a fun cardio workout. I am advanced and love this. She has so many different mixes that you can do different things everyday- highly reccommend.

Wow!
Admittedly, my workout videos are stale and dated, but Amy Bento's Hi/Lo is something else!A friend who shares a similar exercise regime recommended this DVD. We figure 30-60 minutes per day 4-5 times per week keeps the heart pumping and muscles limber. We grew up playing the same sports and neither of us have any sort of dance background. We chuckle at ourselves trying to perform some of the moves (I'm still confused as to what is a 'chasse'. My only reference is that I've heard the term used on Dancing With the Stars.)Regardless of our dance knowledge, what we don't know, we make up.So far, I've only been able to get my rear-end kicked on the first NRG: the shortest composition of Intervals and Combinations. The good news is that this DVD should last me a number of years to work up to the hardest challenge. As a 38 yr-old mother of two small children, the jumping and jogging are difficult to maintain. Thank goodness for 'Pause' on the DVD. Although it's important to stay hydrated, avoid fluids at least an hour before you begin (if you know what I mean.)This is a great workout video, through and through. It's definitely something to own in your exercise repertoire.
