They work really well!!
Have been using the NOW without the apple pectin for months and decided to give this one a try. Both work really well, no unpleasant side effects and are very reasonably priced.

Take at beginning or middle of meal. Makes good poos.
I find that taking these at the end of a meal does not have the desired effect. It seemed as if I would have a tiny, healthy poo after my big uncomfortable poos if I took them at the end. Now, I typically will take two in the middle of a meal - one which I feel is lacking in fiber - or right before I start. This method definitely has the desired effect. My problem is usually constipation, so soluble fiber supplements (I used Benefiber) seemed to make the problem worse. Taking this has completely changed my bathroom experience. No more straining, no more sitting forever and feeling like I still have more up in there. Seriously, great product. On a side note, I also like that this supplement has soluble fiber as well, since that supposedly feeds your gut bacteria, but I have no way of verifying this.

More people need psyllium in their life.
If you have runny doo doo take a few of these before meals. They add bulk and make going #2 more solid and the clean up is as easy as one of those nonstick pans wolfgang is trying to sell nowadays. I have found this brand is the most consistent in the results it produces. Life changing product folks.

For cholesterol lowering review.
This review is for using this product for improving cholesterol #'s. This is just one of the products I used.I've had mixed results with cholesterol lowering supplements and I have done a lot of research on them in the hopes of avoiding going on a statin. I've taken cholesterol supplements and had my cholesterol go down. I've not taken them and had my cholesterol go up. I've also taken them and seen no change. That being said it is definitely worth a try if you want to improve your lipids and avoid a statin.I was taking this in conjunction with other supplements, all that have some scientific research proving they work. I did see improvements in my lipid panels when I took various supplements but was never able to tell what was helping the most. When I didn't take the supplements my #'s would go up, but lately despite taking all of these supplements my #'s were high and I'm now on a statin and not taking any of them anymore. If you are concerned about your cholesterol I would strongly suggest talking to your Dr about a Coronary Calcium Scan as taking supplements can get fairly expensive. After my last lipid panel results came back elevated I went for the scan and my Dr and I decided to go on a statin instead of spending $750-$1000/year on supplements. For the record my CC Scan cost $100, most insurance will not cover it, but it was the best $100 I have ever spent on health care. For the record I had the best test results when taking the following supplements each day:Psyllium Husk 3 x 700mgFlax Oil 2 x 1000mgKrill Oil 2 x 1000mg (fish worked too but I hated the after taste, none of that with krill)TR Niacin 3 x 500mgSytrinol 2 x 150mgCoQ 10 1 x 100mgPantethine 3 x 450mgPlant Sterols 3 x 800mgGlucomannan 3 x 1150mgThese were all spaced out AM, Lunch, PM.Comparing my worst and best lipid #'s from blood tests from a lab, these supplements did the following:Total - Lowered 60 points - 22%Bad - Lowered 53 points - 27%Good - Increased 15 points - 22%Tri-G's - Lowered 37 points - 25%Good to Tri-G Ratio - Worst was 2.62, while on all these went as low as 1.75 (Harvard Med study lists this as possibly the best predictor of heart attack risk). Ideal is below 2.It should be noted that I rarely eat any meat other than fish/shell fish...rarely eat egg yolks...and have a fairly healthy diet...mainly my lipid issues are genetic.

these are great for IBS
Unfortunately for me I am plagued with Severe IBS and stomach problems that change with the seasons. I have a very hard time just functioning every day because you never know what you are going to wake up to. The last flair I had cost me a job and sent me to the ER multiple times. After thousands of dollars in medical tests the best they can come up with is that its IBS and good luck. Lovely huh? I have tried everything on the market for stomach issues. You name it I have bought it and taken it. Recently I have been debating if I am getting enough fiber though I eat mainly produce and avoid meats. After reading the reviews for these pills I decided I had to try it. Many people seem to have similar stomach issues and have found this helped. I have taken this for a week gradually working up to two doses a day. It has already helped. I go more regularly and for me it was a need to keep the consistency the same as to not mess with the bunghole too much more than average after the hell its been through the last 5 years post kidney surgery. The best thing I have notices so far is that this helps curb my appetite and keeps something in my stomach which I have to do. If my stomach acids get too much or I get too hungry I risk nausea and dry heaving. I actually take tums with me everywhere for this very reason. These pills helped keep something in the gut so that it didn’t get overwhelmed when hungry.

Great purchase. Love it.
I used to get Puritan's Pride Psyllium 750 mg. I don't know why but lately they are not selling the 750 mg. While this brand offers 700 mg, the 50 mg difference is well worth it. There is no difference between the two brands. Puritan's Price may have better prices but they haven't been selling them for a while. I believe Psyllium Seeds are essential for your gut health, but I am not a doctor. I've been consuming them for more than 10 years with no side effects.

Another helpful NOW product. Like it.
With Apple Pectin; good stuff!Hard to find psyllium with no sugar, no artificial sweeteners.NOW product has it without sweeteners.A few other things added but says vegetable source. And I like silica in my diet sometimes.Seems purer than other sources, so I am using this psyllium. Not sure of amount needed for good digestion. I open the semi-large capsules and add water.Tastes normal.I do a lot of extra digestion precautions due to living in a city with very unhealthy water. Even though I have to use bottled, I do shower in the city water and occasionally the germs get into the body through eyes, nose, mouth...Love Amazon! One bottle got lost and they sent me a new one free!! Thank you!
