POWER PRO Braided - Depth Hunter

Absolutely love this line, I use power pro on all my other rods and reels.

I usually use sunline braid for slow-pitch jigging, which is hard to find in US. When you cannot get those fancy Japanese lines on time depthhunter is the best choice. It has comparable performance with top tier jigging line, maybe 80-90%, regarding strength and wear resistance. The most important, it is really thin, which is critical for jigging. 30Ib line with proper slow-pitch jigging rod/reel will be enough for any reef fish under 50lb, even a bull shark lol

Like to have this line to determine depth when jogging and to know how much line O have out when pulling crank baits or spinners - Helps in determining depth!

This stuff is strong, tough, and very sensitive. You can feel the type of bottom in 100 foot of water. On the strong, I hung a net on the bottom. I left the rod in the rod holder and used the line as an anchor. It held a 23 foot Proline for over 30 minutes. We then wrapped the line around a boat cleat to leave the spot. The 200 pound swivel broke before the line. The line will cut like any braided line, but unless you cut the line, I have not had any problems with fraying line.

I really like this line. With the multiple colors, I put either the green or blue at the end to make it harder for the fish to see the line, but the other colors make it easier for me to see it. Have used it for Steelhead, Bass, Trout, and Coho. Also helps to judge water depth and can even help if you've had a bite and are trying to get it to the same location again...You can reel in to the same color as when you got the initial strike. Casts like most braided line, not quite the distance for me as monofilament.

A little pricey and line diameter feels large. Love being able to meter out line length. Have all three reels set at same color for perfect spred length. Can keep a tight spred to replicate a school of bait fish

I like that the line colours are every 25 feet for counting how much line is out. Cast very easy and is strong

I've caught lots of salmon with this line. A common situation in my area is bait fish at 80-100 ft in 200 ft or more of water. Previously I would have dropped to bottom then jigged up and hopefully reached the action zone before drifting off the bait. Now I drop until 5 colours have passed, then start jigging already in the zone. Faster and more accurate, no wasting time on hits from bottom fish you weren't interested in.Behaves like regular braid as far as knots and handling on the reel are concerned. The 5 ft/ 25 ft increments are more accurate than line counter reels. If you want to jig for fish that aren't on bottom, this is the way to do it.

Have used 40lb in the past and bought 50 depth hunter this time for a different reel. Good product. Delivered to Vancouver Canada in about 1 week.
