This padlock is made to be keyed to fit your old key using a special tool. Using the tool is a bit of a trick. Hit it ONCE hard enough to shear the pins without over-driving the cylinder. I ruined one padlock by driving the cylinder into the housing too far. But once you learn the right amount of force, it does work very well.

Great product for when you need to "key" a lock to match a existing key or add a lock to a keyed alike system (multiple locks working with same key). Also handy if you need a large number of locks all keyed alike. Note: this product does not come with a key, it's not supposed to! You provide the key to make the lock work with. BTW you need a special tool to make the lock keyed to your key. If you have no idea what I'm talking about then this is not the lock for you.
