Global GS-5/AN 35th Anniversary Special Edition 14cm Vegetable Knife, Cromova 18 Stainless Steel

This is my first foray into Global knives. My second arrived some weeks later with the 20cm chef's knife. Both knives are a revelation as far as sharpness is concerned. I tend to handle it like a samurai would his sword I think! V. CAREFULLY! :DNow it might be my cutting technique but I actually found this knife at 14cm and with it's slightly curved shape to be a bit short and when cutting some vegetables I find that I'm not cutting all the way through on the vegetable furthest away from me. So I'm now finding I tend to use this for smaller work and the chef's knife for mostly everything else. It's a shame as it's an awesome knife ... I guess I should have gone for the G5 or a Santoku knife which has a slightly straighter edge but it just gives me a reason to add to my collection now :)

Really disappointed after spending so much on my knife that it's chipped in two places, only had it for 2months!

The media could not be loaded.  Having bought the first of my Global knives, I cannot imagine I will ever buy another brand. It really adds pleasure and ease to preparation of food. I will be buying other sizes as well, and would love to add their knife sharpener to my list but found those a bit over priced .The above was my rating after few days of receiving the knife and although some part of It is still valid some are not so I changed my 5 star rating to 3 . I have not had this for even a month and have not used it that much either but already losing its sharpness. My £20 one which I have had for 6 months is just as sharp today as the global one,, yet I do not dare to sharpen it unless I have Global sharpener!!! Perils of buying expensive itemsI think the manufacturers trick is to push you into buying their so very expensive sharpener .

Amazing knife used every day! Incredibly sharp, retains sharpness very well, pleaseure to use

This is the best knife I have ever used. I use for vegetables and fruit. It does not come with a sheath to protect which for what it cost I was surprised.
