THERMOS Novelty Lunch Kit, Star Wars R2D2 with Lights and Sound (K41215006S)

I bought this lunch box for myself a few weeks back and it is just awesome. The pictures don't do it justice, if you want to see it light up, go to thinkgeek.com and check it out, where they are also selling it but for a few dollars extra. I bought mine here and the lights are bright and awesome, sound is better than I expected. Only 2 problems. R2s head does not stay that perfect round shape. it concaves a little bit just because there's a battery pack in there, but it's still pretty round. Also, it's not as roomy as i'd hoped. you can fit a fat gatoraid and a sandwich and bag of chips in there but not much else. So maybe this is just meant for younger kids lunches.

This is the coolest lunchbox a second grade boy could ever have. It looks just like a real R2 filled with snacks, has lots of room, and is great. There is a button on the top, which when pressed causes it to light up and make R2 sounds. We didn't realize that when we bought it; what a fabulous surprise. The other boys were very jealous at lunch, and kept making him push the bottom over and over again.The only problem is the shape: it is round, so in order to fit plastic reusable containers, we had to buy the round-shaped ones. I ended up finding some that fit well (ziplock or the Target brand both work), which we stack on top of each other, filled with his various lunch components. I also make round mini-pizzas ahead of time, which we freeze in the containers and then pop into the lunchbox to thaw by lunch. He loves those, and this lunchbox fits them perfectly.The handle is in the wrong place, too: when he carries it, the whole box tilts sideways, spilling anything liquid that is not well-secured. I wish the handle was on the top instead. But that isn't enough to take a star; it's too cool.

I wish there was an easy way to change the battery. :( When ours dies I will be trying to mindfully cut it open; since this seems to be the only way to do so. The sounds and lights are great! It doesn't stink. PVC-free! The straight-out "pvc-free" labeling makes me feel great, so I added back a star (vs taking one off for the flimsiness and lack-of battery access.) I do wish it had some more structure, perhaps PP or ABS plastics within the material, but it's not a huge deal. I just don't want it to get crushed. Overall for the price this makes me very happy!

I used this for three years since receiving it Christmas 2014. It seemed maybe a little flimsy at the time but has held up quite well. The light and sound even still work! The diameter of the lunchbox is perfect to stack pyrex 2-cup bowls in, which I usually use to take my lunch to work. My only complaint is that there's not really a good way to detach the electronics and thus doing a thorough clean is impossible. Also, the bottom of the lunchbox is white and after three years, it's turned quite brown and doesn't want to scrub clean. Still, I've been very happy with this lunchbox!

My boyfriend bought me one from Disneyland ($29.99 there) and I thought it would be a cute present for my baby brother who is finally going into Kindergarten. Not to my surprise was it completely SOLD OUT at disneyland, I tried looking for it on the Thermos website but it too was sold out there. I came on here just to see and BAM here it was. So I rush delivered it and it actually came on time and with a few hours to spare too! I was able to wrap it and have it ready by the time his birthday party started.This lunch pale is amazingly cute. It really does make the sounds and lights up! Keeps my lunch cold too. Should def buy the R2D2 lover in the family one of these bad boys (:

This is the 2nd defective lunch box received. This one worked the first time we tried the lights/sounds, then stopped working (of course, after we removed the tags). My kid is very disappointed and I’m annoyed at spending $20 on something that worked once.

I bought this for my 5 year old son to take to kindergarten. He absolutely loves it as do all the other kids in his class. The lights and sounds are a nice added touch (sorry teachers for how many times you must hear it during lunch). It's a great size for my little guy though it may be a little on the small size for older kids. I can fit an ice pack, sandwich, two small snacks and a small bag of chips. I've had no problem cleaning it. We've only been using it for 3 weeks but so far so good on durability. I would buy it again.

I originally posted a 5 Stat but have changed it after using it longer.Pros:* well made* my son loves the look of it* it's a unique lunch bag that won't gets mixed up with others in his class* keeps the cold in all day when using ice packsCons:* after 1 month of use as a school lunch bag, without frequent pressing of the button to turn on lights and sound, one light has burnt out* the rounded shape makes it difficult to fit food containers in, especially when using small ice pack, often making it difficult to close or fit all his food in. His old rectangular lunch bag, which was smaller, fit much for food in it. If your containers & ice packs are round & flat, it would fit much better, but ours are, unfortunately, all rectangular. I find I have to pile smaller things on top of the containers so that they fill the lid when closed.My son and I were both so excited by the lunch bag when it arrived, and I initially gave it a 5 star rating, but we are both now a bit disappointed, so I lowered the rating to 3.

My hubby adored this lunchbag. The first day he took his work to lunch in it resulted in a "What's for lunch R2?" video on social media with R2 answering. Practical and playful, this is the perfect gift for Star Wars fans - even I adore it!

Me gustó: Está muy bonita, me encantaron los leds y ruidos, buen tamaño, la calidad de los materiales muy buena (incluyendo el zipper y la manija acolchonada), es insulada y guarda bien el frío y calor.No me gustó: No se le puede cambiar la pila (no sé cuánto dure) y la mandaron muy arrugada como se nota en las fotos, sólo por eso no le doy las 5 estrellas. No fue culpa del envío porque venía con un cartón dentro, todos sus sellos y empacada en una caja, más bien se ve que desde hacía tiempo estaba arrugada.
