A supernatural thriller
Jeremiah Hunt was on a mission to find his abducted daughter. He spent five years searching, going to extreme lengths to find her. Along the way he meets a couple of others who help in his search. Before they can cm that they must deal with the threat of a serial killer.I found the cast to be interesting. We may not know them in depth but we learn what motivates them. The the of them make an exceptional team, each bringing special talents that combine to create a formidable force. There were a few surprises toward the end of the book. Almost nothing turned out the way I'd expected. This was a good thing because I thought I was thing to be let down. This is a complete story but allows you to continue on with Hunt's adventures if you want. It is a pet peeve of mind when books end with a cliffhanger, a sign to me that a trick like that is all that could bring a reader back. The proper ending here makes me want to come back for more.

New Series Promises Darkness
Eyes To See is the first book in an intriguing new series by Joseph Nassise (author of the Templar Chronicles) and is a great little mix of paranormal and noir fiction. In order to find his missing daughter, scholar Jeremiah Hunt gave up his eyes in exchange for a new vision that allows him to see through the eyes of the dead and other demonic forces. He finances his continued search for his daughter by hiring out as a ghost banisher and moonlighting with the Boston Police Department as a consultant. The book opens up with an interesting glimpse into Jeremiah's life as he arrives at a potential client's house. Nassise does a good job of showing how vulnerable a blind man is in today's world if people decide to take advantage of him, and depicting the fact that Jeremiah at this stage of his life is not a nice guy. He's totally focused on finding his daughter and only puts up with others if they're going to help him achieve that goal.Nassise also builds his world of darkness and light really well, then fills it with all manner of monsters. The author is really good at pacing and atmosphere, and I felt as trapped in the pages as Jeremiah felt in the search for his missing child. I couldn't help but keep pressing on, watching as the stakes mounted and the odds against Jeremiah intensified.Boston comes alive on the pages too. I felt the city and its shadows all around me as I chased after Jeremiah and peeked over his shoulder at all the ghosts and monsters he confronted during his various caseloads. Nassise has a nice mix of people who know about that dark world hidden from the view of most humans, and of people who think Jeremiah just has "special" powers, not a front row seat at the various circles of Hell. The overall premise of the book may put some readers in the mind of Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden series, but this trilogy promises to be a lot darker and more somber.

Gripping, Heartfelt and Fast Paced
This story was a fast paced, page turner and I especially enjoyed the character development of Jeremiah Hunt. The idea that he would give up his own vision for paranormal sight so he could find his daughter or at least discover what happened to her set him apart and made him remarkably memorable as a character. You could forgive his antisocial mannerisms and rough reactions to other people, especially in the beginning, because the empathy established through his love for his child overrode the rest. Driven by feelings of guilt and unconditional love, he begins a dark quest. The other characters he encounters and the way the plot enfolds with the truly horrific villains, kept me glued to the pages, wanting to know what happened next, and the ending didn't disappoint. I was also relieved that the story doesn't end as a cliff hanger. ( I hate cliff hangers.) I'm sometimes wary of the first book in a series because some authors try to rope you into the next book with the cliff hanger ending which makes me mad and backfires. I will deliberately not read the next book. I would be happy to read the whole Jeremiah Hunt series. This book was very well written and excellent.

I need you to see
Jeremiah Hunt is blind, most of the time.He functions quite well in his state, even being called upon to assist Stanton at crime scenes. He has a secret. He is looking for his long lost daughter, Elizabeth. He has lost everything dear to him in life so he must keep searching.

This is a Shade all of its own
I love my ghost stories but this was one of the best ones I have read in a long time. The main character is a story in himself, his back story another then the story itself. There is a feeling of Supernatural about it but without the goofing around that happens with the brothers. There is the detail which is not unbelievable, the character is credible as just an ordinary man who evolved due to tragedy into something that seems to walk between the worlds. Really recommend this and now I am off to read the next one.

Good every ghost story.
This is an excellent story, totally captivating.A blind man looking for his little daughter who disappeared without trace five years ago,He is totally blind in daylight and can only see a whiteout, after dark however he can see as good as any one. He has two sidekicks, Whisper and Scream, both ghosts. .This story follows his hunt for his daughter, and all the unearthly creatures he meets on theway.A true horror story. Excellent.

Couldn’t put this down
What an incredible story. Loved that the back story was fed to us throughout the book. Urban fantasy at its best. I’ll definitely be buying books 2 & 3
