A great helmet for the price!
I bought this helmet after looking at a few. I even considered the Harbor Freight and this one was actually less expensive than the HF and offers a better graphic design. It is a light weight plastic, but that's not a bad thing. Out of the box, it works as intended. The instructions may seem a little confusing at first, and whenever you trust something like this to the possibility of damaging your eyes, it can be scary. But, I can say I've used it for hours now over a course of a few days and it has worked very well. The couple things I can say is to turn press the battery check to make sure the batteries are good. The battery check is on the inside of the face area. Do this every time you intend to use it. Also, adjust the sensitivity to the max when you first try for the first time. This way you can ensure the response time is fast on it from the get go. I initially tried a shade of 11, but found it a bit to dark for what I was working on, so I found 10 a good setting and it works well for what I'm doing now and it allows me to see well while I'm working on my current project. I have the delay set to max which allows a one second delay before it comes out of being dark back to normal. That way, if the metal is hot, I won't get any flash from the metal.I would give it five stars, but the plastic knobs on the sides are pretty weak and don't hold the helmet well when I have it up. It tends to slide down all the time. The adjustment knob which tightens it around the head is nice. You press it in to tighten and loosen it which I like. The weight on this is nice and comfortable which means no neck aches. It comes with plenty of extra lens covers. Over all, I'm pretty happy with it up to this point.Edit: One person asked what kind of batteries it takes, so I thought I'd answer that and post a pic. It takes 2each CR2032 Lithium 3V batteries (as shown). The instructions are somewhat vague on how to access them. You have to remove the front lens cover, and then you remove the entire unit by releasing the plastic tabs. It's easier if you're looking at it.

Over good for the money. Buy a replacement head band.
Overall great much better than the Harbor Freight it replaced. Only problem is the headband does not tighten. Looking for a replacement headband now.

Best Welding Helmet For The Money!
Excellent alternative to the Lincoln Viking 1840 welding helmets! I bought two of these to replacement two Lincoln 1840's which one failed due to the batteries and since the welding lens are sealed and non-user serviceable your screwed! I failed at opening the lens for battery replacement even though some have been successful at getting it open! A replacement lens is only $20 cheaper than a brand new helmet so I trashed the helmet and started looking for a helmet that allowed replacement of the lens batteries which lead me to this helmet. We have been putting the two Antra helmets through their paces and were extremely happy with them. They feel similar to the Lincoln 1840's with the only negative being the viewing area for the Antra helmets is slightly smaller. One of the major positives is the cheater/magnifier lens holder excepts the Lincoln Viking lens perfectly and on top of that the positioning of that lens from your eyes is much better than it is in the Lincoln helmets. For the money, you get one nice helmet with features as good or better than the Lincoln Viking 1840 welding helmets and it comes with quite a few spare protective lens (inner/outer) which is a bonus! For welding outside, its not any better or any worse than the Lincoln's we had. Personally, we don't even bother with auto-darkening helmets outside due to the constant sensitivity adjustments that are required. A good old Jackson HSL2 works perfectly outside (same helmet I used all those years ago in welding school before auto-darkening helmets became affordable). At a price point around $50, you'd literally have to be insane to pass up this welding helmet!

Wasn't expecting much at this low price, but it is an impressive, very lightweight, very sharp looking helmet! Son loves it!
I have to first say, I do not know much about welding. (I'm a 43 year old mom and have welded maybe 10 times in my life, when I was forced to in a class in high school.) My son, who is a welder, added this to his Amazon wish list for Christmas, so I purchased it for him. He loves the cool design on the outside (looks even better in person). We played around with it when he opened his gift. It is extremely lightweight, which he loves. The auto darkening feature is pretty awesome. We tested it at home, using the regular lights in the house. As soon as I turned to look at a lamp or overhead light, the screen instantly darkened up! When I looked away from the light, the screen was instantly normal. (We did this in our living room at night, so not sure how the solar power comes into play - sun was not needed at the time.) The darkness levels or sensitivity can be adjusted, as well. I really wasn't expecting much for this low price, but so far we are very impressed! The weight makes me a little concerned about durability - again it is extremely lightwieght - but so far it has held up great - and my son is rough on things! I will update the review if we experience any issues. )

Great helmet, lightweight and fully functional right out of the box
Might not be a thousand dollar helmet but sure works like one. Purchased this for my husband as he's a stubborn oldschool guy and would just hold a welding glass up to weld or plasma cut, not the safest. I've purchased him helmets in the past he said they were to heavy and constantly had to lift them up. I found this auto dark helmet had good reviews and figured I give it another try to keep him safe. He actually wears it he said it's very lightweight automatic darkening works perfect, also has really good adjustable straps to adjust for him perfectly. He also likes the fact that he can order parts for it when needed, lenses, covers ect. This is a win win in my book. It does feel like an inexpensive plastic but he has not cracked it or burned any holes though it. He uses it several times a month for repairs on most everything, He has used it with mig, tig, stick, and plasma cutter. We are both pleased with this helmet
