great sounding guitar
I currently have a Gibson blue ridge, Gibson j-45. Taylor 814, Breed love pro cr25 and this Martin swdgt. the martin is the least expensive but no way the worst sounding. I bought it used and was pleasantly surprised at the looks, sound and quality it's a 2008 and still plays very good.

Heat will kill this guitar
I got one and I live out here in New Mexico where it is hot and dry. I took the guitar to music store to get a pickup installed. The guitar sat in its case for 4 days before the repair man could get to it and the guitar dried out in its. Case the top started to collapse. I dehumidifier the guitar but it still is not back 100% . I also had a bridge doctor installed I thought that would help. It is an ok guitar but not for the southwest u.s. climate it has hardly any top bracing in it. It is a light guitar and fragile in my book as it dries out to easy. I am trading this of and getting something else.

A lot of Martin at an affordable price
I was looking for a D-28 to purchase as Christmas present to myself. I happened upon the sustainable wood series was really intrigued by some of the woods used in portions of this instruments. I love Martin guitars and I still want to pick up that D-28 sometime in the future. But on this Christmas I just couldn't not pass up this guitar. Beautiful gloss top with satin finish sides and back. Sealed tuning machines with gold finish. The head stock features a beautiful knurled look finished. The Martin label rendered in raised gold foil. I've had this guitar for a year now. It is really developing a warm, rich voice. Like all Martin dreadnoughts, the sound is huge. If you are looking for a unique guitar, high quality and beautiful sound, this is you chance to strike gold.

Excellent
To me, it sounds about half way between a D16 and D28. A full mellow/bright tone. Not bright as a D28, not mellow as a D16. One might say it's the perfect balance between. As for quality... It is a Martin, and nothing less than you expect from the name. It's a flat finish back and sides, so not as showy as most Martins. But is has a nice classy appearance. And the top finish is toned, so it looks aged and yellowed, not like new natural spruce. This guitar is very rigid, and holds a tune perfectly, even with Martins heaviest strings. Use the Martin MSP strings. You will love this guitar.
