Lovely pen at an exceptional price
Arrived quickly. Also received a lovely message from the seller thanking me for supporting a family run, British company.I purchased a couple of fountain pens at the same time, my faithful old friend has been experiencing issues over the past few weeks and needs a re-tune. The pen came in a nice box which made it feel special and it looks really stylish overall. The finials make a lovely touch. I've compared this with the other I purchased at a much higher price and already feel the Dryden is leagues ahead of the other.Easy to load up with ink and writes like a dream. The only thing I notice is that it's lighter compared with some of my other pens. When I placed the cap on the barrel to give it more weight it upset the balance in my hand but this'll be personal preference. The ink flows really nicely and the nib isn't as temperamental as others when getting used to writing with it. A great pen at a great price, even better if you're in the market for a slightly lighter pen.

Dryden surprise
Another addition to my collection. Unscrewing the Aluminum body to refill 'feels cheap' but the bright anodise finish is pleasant and smooth when writing. Cap 'clicks' on and off to protect the nib, but does not click onto the body and can come adrift, so I tend to leave it to one side. That then makes the pen quite 'small' in the hand and less well balanced . . . but comfortable enough. The German hooded nib (F) is very smooth and remarkably reliable - usually starting first stroke even after being laid aside for a while !! That's rare, even on far more expensive fountain pens.As with all my pens, I use it with a converter [push on - would have preferred screw fix] and fill it with Diamine ink. Please Note: I am right handed but my granddaughter who is left handed has no difficulties using this pen. This is an unusual quality. eg her Parker Sonnet has a custom 'lefties' nib(I will probably treat her the Dryden Bamboo model to take with her to University.)Pleasant enough pen at a very modest price. Perhaps a good option for left-handed writers!

Lovely pen
The weight is good - well balanced. The fine nib is not scratchy at all (but I did buy Dryden ink just in case). The colour is gorgeous and exactly as expected. I checked out the Dryden website to see how true the Amazon colour was - spot on. They say it can be used by left-handed people too - so I tested it out on my husband. He loved it, but he's not getting it! Previous pens have always covered my middle finger with ink as my nail was getting in the way of the ink feed. Not so this pen - very clean. Flows beautifully. LOVE it!

Writes beautifully & generally well made despite slightly imperfect design. Excellent value.
Initial impressions:Construction and quality of build are fair, but not what you'd get from a known quality brand pen: reflects the low price point. But the steel barrel feels good, the lid has a very secure click into place, the clip is springy and firm, and the weight & balance in the hand is good. The twist-fill reservoir seems decent: I'll need to use a few tankfuls to see how it wears and check for any leakage. One quibble on the design is that the grip could be a bit more comfortable, it's oddly designed so the fingers grip just at the point where there's a sharp step down in barrel width from main barrel to nib area. But the key thing is that it writes beautifully. Really smooth, no scratchiness, ink flow is smooth and even, no problem with rapidly drawn lines for sketches. So on balance I'm really happy with it. Looks like it'll be a good everyday workhorse pen at excellent value.

Lovely weight; attractive writer
Pink Dryden fountain pen with converter, used with Dryden ink (pink) for work - as we mark with pink ink.Own is a good weight, but not too lightweight that you know you’re using it. Medium nib is considerably more fine than I expected, so is more ‘scratchy’ than I am used to, but that’s down to using a broader nib. It became easier to use with increased usage, and felt comfortable enough.I opted for using the converter with bottle ink as pink inks are pricey compared to black/ blue when purchased as cartridges. I’d lie and say it was because of the plastic issue, but it’s not - it’s going to be far more cost effective using refillable cartridge than disposable. Can recommend!

Not one for the lefties!
It's a lovely looking pen and when one presses on almost hard enough to be scratching the paper beneath, it's a good writer. But I find the effort to get smooth flow from it leaves me with an aching hand - I'm ambidextrous and have experienced the same pain in both hands. It's probably worth spending a bit more if your intent on writing essays etc, for a note to the milkman - it's fine!

Not so Brilliant!
Was 4* now 1* as despite infrequently using it half the nib snapped after 8 months use. That's the sort of time (with my usage) that the pen should have been about "run in"! Review WAS :- It's difficult to get fine nibbed pens these days on the high street (try going in to WHS and see!). So when I saw the Dryden Pens I decided to get the 'Decadent Purple' as that was the colour of ink I was going to use. On receipt (a day early) I was really pleased at the purchase. It writes beautifully, unlike some that need a period of "running in" before you get the true quality. It glides well across the paper, no snagging and is very well balanced with the pen top added to the back. For those who still believe in the art of the written word this pen is a joy to use and the weight is just right to allow extended use. A really excellent value for money pen. So why the 4*'s? Like a lot of reviewers the actual colour is not as it appears in the photo's. The pen I received was more a dark pink than Decadent Purple which doesn't fit in with my self styled macho ego :-) which is a real disappointment. The look of a writing instrument enhances the use and here, and only here, did it not find my favour. Once Dryden get this sorted I'll probably be buying one or two more.

Just beautiful
I been a pen fancier for sixty years! I've owned expensive fountain pens and less as well. This is an economical but beautiful pen that writes as smoothly as spreading butter. Also, it doesn't skip when I write fast. Best of all, I repeat it's beautiful! I am so satisfied.

Great quality fountain pen
As soon as you open and wield this pen you can feel it is made of quality material it has a good weight and the finishing on the product is not easily scarred. I travel with this product a lot and it has kept its beautiful finish and quality even with a lot of use and transport.

WOW!
This is a fabulous fountain pen. I have had many fine nib fountain pens in the past, always searching for a pen with a fine nib that didn't catch and drag--and much to my bank account's sorrow, cost didn't seem to make a difference. This pen flows across the page effortlessly. I picked it up at the post office on my way in to work yesterday and shamelessly spent my entire shift "playing" with it. Good weight. Nice balance. High quality finish. I am very pleased.

Tinte stockt
