MIZON Black Snail All In One Cream Intensive Korean Skin Care Facial Moisturizing Snail Mucin Extract (2.54 fl oz)

I have very sensitive, acne and clog prone skin. I also use a chemical exfoliant (Cosrx BHA liquid) and I wanted something that would soothe my skin. I bought this hoping for a more hydrating/lighter alternative to the benton steam cream, which is my normal night cream. I also wanted an affordable cream with ceramides and without silicones.I used a bunch of snail gels and creams, but this one has a very unique texture. It has a lot of "slip" to it. It has sort of a gel-cream texture, it's very light feeling on the skin.It has no scent, and all I need for my entire face and neck is about a dime size. If my skin is feeling particularity dry or sensitive, I allow the cream to sink in (about 10 seconds) and then apply another layer on top.I found it to be just as moisturizing as the benton steam cream, but without the heavy feeling. It also dries down to a semi matte finish, and doesn't leave me looking shiny or oily.When I started using this I noticed my skin had a brighter more even toned look with less redness. Usually when I wake up in the morning my skin feels a little dry and tight, due to my air conditioner. Since using this, I've had much less of that dry, itchy feeling in the morning. I've even applied this to a small patch of eczema, the next day it was much less red and irritated looking.Pros: Doesn't break me outMoisturizes without being too heavyScentless, doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, very soothingDoesn't clog my poresLight enough to use during the day, but moisturizing enough to use at nightWorks well under makeup, nice semi matte finishA little goes a long wayPrice is good for the size of jarCons: If you apply too much, it can sometimes leave small white dried patches of cream on your faceJar is easily breakable (I dropped it after a few months)

This is my 4th time trying this moisturizer hoping to like it and 4ths times a charmsurprisingly. The first 3 times I tried it, I noticed the immediate displeasing qualities (I’ll get to that soon) and gave up. But I kept coming back hoping things would be different because that ingredient list is so DANG BEEFY. Snail mucin, niacinamide, adenosine, centella asiatica, a BUNCH of peptides, and more. On paper it seems like I would be a fool not to use this moisturizer. But upon initial use (first 1-2 weeks), there are 2 major flaws that kept me giving up.1. It’s not moisturizing. At all. In fact it makes my skin feel tighter and dries to a waxy matte.2. It stings at first. Not unbearable and it goes away, but typically any stinging at all is a bad sign to me.So... why did I give this moisturizer 4 stars and now use it daily without any intention to stop?Because after 1-2 weeks.... my skin texture became SO SMOOTH. My skin tends to be rough and tight, on the dry side. Now, my skin is SMOOOOOOOOOOOOOTTHH and “normal” in terms of moisture/hydration.And! It no longer stings at all upon application.However, I do wish it was more moisturizing. Yes I could layer another on top but my skin really doesn’t do well with using more than one leave on product at a time. But for the affects it’s given me, I don’t care.I think the “tightening” (or some may say firming?) quality is from the synthetic wax... or something. It’s not actually DRYING fyi. But if you’re already prone to tightness it can be an unwanted sensation.For me it’s gone away everywhere except the eyes- I still feel a *little* tight there when I apply this.Anyways hope this helpsTLDR; It has great ingredients that work but it’s not moisturizing at all (but not actively drying either) and may sting a little at first. If you are set on trying this I would give it 2 weeks to judge it completely.

I heard tons of amazing things about snail mucin while researching Korean skin care products, so I knew I had to try this product out when I saw how highly rated the Mizon All In One Cream was. I thought I would go the extra step and spring for the Black Snail All In One, thinking it must be even more concentrated. I love that you receive a very good amount of product for less than you would pay for even the drugstore face creams! A little dab is enough to pat onto my entire face and neck. I have seen good benefits from using this face cream. Not totally astounding results, but good enough that I will more than likely purchase the regular Mizon All In One Snail Cream next time. This product hydrates without feeling greasy, it soothes my irritated skin, I think I've even noticed a difference in how quickly acne discoloration is improving. I've only been using it for two months, so I'm still waiting to see just how good this product works on my skin. I'm only 31, and have oily/combination skin with minimal fine lines around the eyes and mouth. Since starting my Korean skincare routine, I have seen those fine lines erased, my pores are shrinking, my face isn't quite as oily through the T-zone, my skin is smoother, and the cystic acne that had started to crop up is finally calming down. I have noticed a few more blackheads on the chin and nose, but they aren't bad enough that I can't gently take care of them after a hot shower. Overall, this is a good night cream. Definitely worth trying.
