A Good Source for an Occasion Cak
I made 6 of the recipes in this book. Some are very simple cakes that I wouldn't serve for a dinner but maybe a luncheon. They can be a little tricky if you aren't an experienced baker. Stay away from the cheesecake recipe though .... it was so over laden that one bite makes you feel sick.

One of my all-time favorite bakers
Mr. Malgieri is one heckuva top-notch baker...have had the opportunity in the past, to watch/meet him during a demonstration, when he was touring for his book 'Perfect Cakes'. As exhausted as he was, he not only put on a fabulous baking demonstration, but, was also kind enough to spend time talking to the group, and working out 'baking problems'. Quite the gentleman!

I purchased this book after reading a blog post by David Lebowvitz where he said this book was awesome...it is a great baking book but the one recipe I wanted, which David said it had, was for Kuglehopf and it wasn't included!

It is really a tour around the world
This book contains recipes from all the world, even from the less know countries. I live in Holland and there are even well known Dutch recipes in here. And the name and quantities are correct, I already tried one yesterday and the result was absolutely how it should be. I think it is kind of funny that I have first tried this dutch recipe, in an American cookbook.There are some photographs inside the book, but not all the recipes have pictures. I already own most of Nick Malgieri's books and they always work out right.
