Leagrams 150 Everyday Fat Balls for Wild Birds

We were getting through quite a few of those buckets of fat balls you get from our local shop, feeding the birds, that we decided to start buying in bulk instead, to save money. We have tried a few different suppliers and these ones are very good.To cut to the chase, birds love these. I’m always amazed at how many different types of birds come to the feeders to eat them (we also crumble a few up and put them on the ground and on the bird table for the ground feeders and larger birds).Each fat ball weighs about 70g, which is slightly larger that the ones we had previously and they are a slightly darker colour, but the birds took to the. Right away, just as they did with the more expensive ones we used to buy, so all is well.At less than thirty quid for 300, that’s just around 10p each, which I think is really good value, given how much the birds like them.One small point to be aware of, they come in cardboard boxes (150 per box). The boxes are strong but, perhaps not too surprisingly, a few were broken during transport, when we opened them. But just a few and, frankly, the birds didn’t seem to mind!Recommended.

I bought these fat balls because they appeared to come without plastic packaging, which is correct: just a strong cardboard box, filled with fat balls. I could not establish from the description how heavy the box was, and was surprised to discover, from the small print on the label, that the box actually weighed 12.75 kilos - quite extraordinary value for money compared with other brands. The only downside - which is obvious - is that there is nothing to prevent rats from smelling the fat and gnawing through the box. Ironically, I have wrapped the box in a heavy duty plastic bag and placed it on a high shelf, in hope that this will reduce the temptation.

The birds quite like these as a last resort after all the seeds and sunflower hearts have been eaten so quite pleased that this was a good buy.I often find the fat ball holder on the ground and think this is being done by the crows that visit as these are very intelligent birds. More so than the daft pidgeons that come around.Will buy again when I need to replenish.

Unfortunately one of the boxes had partially split with the loss of some fat balls. I contacted the seller with photographs of the damage and with both politeness and speed they made a generous refund for what had been lost.There were very few broken fat balls and they are not too hard. The birds are very happy.

These fat balls are good value for money and last well. No plastic packaging. Would recommend and birds love them.
