Excellent training tool for large breed dogs and intense pullers. I love that it has the quick release feature, which makes it so easy to properly fit this collar as well as take it on and off easily.While people are usually initially put off by the appearance of prong collars, they are actually much safer for pullers than most standard collars. With a standard collar a heavy puller will not feel the pressure of the collar correctly until they gag themselves like I see dogs do all the time. This is TERRIBLE for their necks and can do serious damage over time. The prong collar, however, creates many equally applied pressure points (think of it the way people can lay on a bed of nails without being punctured or injured at all) and this is pressure a dog senses and responds to extremely quickly. This not only makes it easier to work on walking correctly, it also prevents them from unknowingly causing themselves to harm their necks.IMPORTANT! You must fit these types of collars properly or they will not work properly. Watch some YouTube tutorials on how to remove/add links and to fit the collar appropriately.

I like how heavy duty the Dog collar is. What I don't like what I have 2 of them and they released completely at the worst times. The metal tongs need to be completely rebent. I have two yellow labradors. The 1st time it happened I thought it was a fluke. The very 1st link if you look at the caller is bent at a 90 all the other links are bent at a 45ﾟ angle. This collar can be saved if you been the 1st link to a 45 to match the others. And take all the links and bend them outward just a hair. Will repost if I find out that this works for sure. The dog collars just completely releases and your dog is running free. Into the road, after a jogger, after baby rabbits. The price was fair. The design is extremely flawed. Nothing worse then apologizing to someone when your dog runs at them they do not care how it got free and you will be ultimately responsible for what happens.

The Coastal Pet Easy-On Dog Prong Training Collar is a very nice piece of gear for your dog. But, as stated elsewhere in the reviews, please learn how to use it properly! It is not a magic bullet for all "bad" behaviors. It is easy to use. Just unbuckle it, slide it over the dogs head, and rebuckle it. Seems very sturdy. We use it on an Anatolian Shepherd who is around 110 pounds, and it is solid, no worries of rupture or coming undone or off her neck. The fabric martingale strap slides easily, thus the collar tightens and releases properly and efficiently without fussing around. We are working with this collar to train the dog and we hope to then move away from the need for it, and use a less harsh collar. At the moment, our dog is still young, and learning, so we need the extra control this Training Collar provides.

This collar comes apart very easily. I bought this collar in November 2020 and the very first time I used it (after making sure it fit my dog as it should), it came apart while we were still in our driveway. I went back inside and spent a good amount of time with a pair of pliers. That helped but since then it has come apart a couple more times. Most recently, it came apart yesterday while walking by another dog. I gave a quick correction tug on the leash and the collar came apart. While it was not an issue, it very easily could have been if we were walking by a different dog. I will be purchasing a different collar and no longer using this one.

This is a great training collar. It immediately improved the leash manners of our two Shiloh Shepherds, one 110 lb and the other 80 lb. We got this one because my wife isn't strong enough to open the links on a regular prong collar. The plastic snap buckle is VERY VERY strong...in fact it's almost as hard to open it as it is to remove a link, but it's easier on the fingers. The prongs are smoothly rounded so they won't injure your dog. BE SURE you know how to fit and use this. It should be closely fitted...comfortable, but no slack...at the top of the neck, just behind the ears and under the jaw. Remove or add links to get a correct fit. Keep the leash just barely slack...the dog should not be able to move more than a few inches from his heel position without the collar tightening slightly. You won't need to jerk the leash, the dog will administer his own correction if he gets out of position. There are lots of great videos on the web showing the correct way to use a prong collar. ONLY use the collar for training or walks, do not leave it on 24/7.UPDATE, May 2018. After using these collars for several months, we remain completely satisfied. They are still like new, and our big, strong dogs walk beautifully with us, under complete control. Happy dogs, happy people!

This is a solidly made prong color. It is nicely made with a buckle closure making it easy to get on and off. It is fairly easy to remove the prongs to adjust the length. The black fabric portion is not adjustable. You must remove links to size. I've been using this with two different German Shepherds. The first is a young female who goes from calm to Cujo in three seconds. This collar works well with her. and demonstrates her ability to rein herself in. The second is a senior male rescue. His training weakness is leash work. He is oversized and can be determined. A light correction with this has resulted in substantial improvements. I have used the all metal versions previously. although overall performance is about equal this is a tad easier to adjust and much easier to get on and off the dogs.

First product was lost in mail but staff was very friendly and sent a replacement item very quickly and it is perfect! Highly recommend.

the metal in this product is cheap. I have to train a very large dog and I am not convinced that the metal will not bend under the stress. The clasp section is good.
