One Moment Please: A Surprise Pregnancy Standalone

Loved it
With crackling chemistry and a sexy doctor you'll want to kiss one minute and smack the next, this accidental pregnancy romance hooked me in IMMEDIATELY. I always love strangers to lovers romances, and this adds an element of enemies to lovers that was pure delight. These two don't know anything about each other, but the sparks that fly between them are all kinds of HOT. Their first interactions are fiery fun, slowly simmering into something sweeter and more heartfelt. Our hero is in way over his head, and it was fun (and a little frustrating) to watch him heal his broken pieces. He's got a protective, possessive side that was super swoony, and he shows his affection through actions instead of words. It's another fantastic installment in a series that I've been slowly catching up on (backwards), and it left me ready to dive into the next one.The story follows Lynsey, a woman who is both attracted to and a little infuriated by the temperamental doctor she keeps running into at the hospital cafeteria. On the day that she has a particularly memorable interaction with Josh, Lynsey has the unfortunate luck of being forced to talk to him at a bar. One thing leads to another, and the two feuding near-strangers have a hot and steamy night together. After disappearing at the end of the night, Lynsey believes she'll never see the man again... until she ends up in the ER, and he's the doctor on call. He's also the man who is tasked with letting Lynsey know that she's pregnant... with his baby. As if sleeping with the moody man wasn't bad enough, now Lynsey is stuck with him forever. This really put me through my paces, emotionally. It's scorching one minute, playful the next, and then angsty when you least expect it. I loved that Lynsey and Josh were forced to connect and push through in moments when they would've otherwise given up, and their hard-won relationship felt sweeter because of it. I still kinda wanted to smack Josh sometimes, but I also adored his softer side. He's a man who doesn't know how to love - or is at least incredibly resistant to doing so - but he's a natural caretaker and truly loving deep down. Compartmentalizing his feelings as a doctor does not translate well to his personal life, and that causes plenty of conflict. However, the overall tone is light and sexy, with SO MUCH chemistry between these two. It reads easily as a standalone, but also makes a great addition to the series, and I'm kicking myself for not moving it up my TBR sooner.Audio note: The audio is excellent! This one isn't duet narration like many of Daws' others, but it's the next best thing. I love both Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton, so it was no hardship to listen to them both. They both give emotive performances that seriously enhance the story, and it's such a good audio experience. The runtime is perfect for bingeing in one day, though I don't recommend this for the office. It's steamy from the start and stays that way throughout, with many fan-worthy moments that you won't want your co-workers overhearing, lol! The vibe works very well in audio though, with much of the story remaining light. I had a great time listening to this one, and it's got me ready to one-click the others in the series.

Give it “ONE MOMENT PLEASE” kind of reading and you’ll never regret!
Of all the Wait With Me series, One Moment Please was my top pick to read first. I was so curious of the what, how, and why she got preggy esp when it said they started not liking each other. I was excited to know how, and when they’ll eventually fall for each other. Dr Dick has a past and some readers complain that he’s kinda dramatic. NOPE! It surely relates to reality. Some men have a hard time coping and moving on and would keep their mouth closed and pretend that part in their life never happened. Don’t even put the women in men’s perspectives. Totally different. Some men are just not into relationship and it takes a special woman for them to change. Lynsey’s brightness and craziness is what Dr Dick needs. He tried…and tried to ignore what’s in front of him but eventually he found his enlightenment! This story is beautifully written. I tear up in some parts of it. I wish there was an extended epilogue or a BONUS SCENE, please author 🙏 I’d like to read Dr Dick happily stressed with all his many children just like his wishes to “have more”! 😉

Expired condom results in baby, chaos follows
HEAStandalone (but read the series in order)Trigger warningsCancerDeath of childMinor violenceDr Richardson notices a woman in the hospital cafeteria more often than normal. He a complete jerk to her.She is writing her thesis paper in the cafeteria when a doctor lays into her rudely. Later that night, they see each other through mutual friends and with the help of alcohol and a deleted Uber address, she ends up staying the night at his house. Months later she comes into the er for an emergency and finds out not only is he her dr that night but also the father of her baby she didn't know she was pregnant with. He's in shock, she's in shock. It's a whole thing. The next six months are a wild ride as they get to know each other while he refuses to open up and get help for his past. She leaves and he has to figure out what's more important, the past or their future.

Surprise, baby!
Lynsey Jones has found the perfect spot to write her thesis: the hospital cafeteria. She likes the vibe of the place and it has pie! She can't help noticing the hunky, arrogant jerk who frequents the place, "Dr. Dick". She's been happy just ogling him and is quite surprised when he confronts her and accuses her of "being weird" for hanging out at the place. The meeting doesn't go well (there's some pie dropped on some male crotch) but Lynsey has no intention of ever going back there anyway as she has literally just finished writing her thesis. Fast forward to a few weeks later and they meet up again by chance at a bar. A few drinks, a couple of hours of heated banter, a shared Uber ride and months of mutual attraction and they find themselves in one very hot one night stand. Three months later, Lynsey is at the ER at the hospital to get some stitches after one of the several freak accidents she seems to be prone to and she's not only treated by Dr. Dick but he also informs her that the routine tests run at the ER show she's pregnant! And yeah, crap, the baby is his! This is a very low angsty, grumpy/sunshine, one night stand, surprise baby, forced proximity rom com with all the goodness that Amy Daws always brings. It's fun to see those two banter like two little kids at kindergarten recess - Josh can't seem to be able to resist pulling at Lynsey's pigtails and she gives as good as she gets. Fun and lighthearted while touching on some heavy topics. Great read! Narration: Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton, so you know you are in for a treat! Possible triggers: surprise pregnancy; PTSD from losing a patient

I need a moment please!
Laugh out loud funny and still somehow sweet and swoon worthy! One Moment Please is packed full of steam, FEELS, love, laughter and it's bound to bring a smile on your face!“"What do I have to do to make those red lips of yours shut up for any length of time?”"Maybe you should kiss me,”"I love Amy's writing style and her creativity. I'm a nurse so I particularly enjoyed reading an author that had clearly done some research before writing a both with a doctor for the male lead.I loved how Daws didn't have Josh fade into a sweet man, which is what I'm sure some would've preferred, upon hearing that he's about to be a father. The man stayed cold and cautious and all things considered, when you find out why, it's completely understandable. He was seemingly unfeeling and stubborn to the point of frustration but still lovable and HOT 🔥I loved Lynsey! Her fierceness, ambition, outlook and positivity. A clever and guarded heroine that was still so sweet and admirable. Not to mention, hilarious. That girls inner monologue had me laughing out loud!I loved the setting and the side characters. The family feel. The quirks of both Josh and Lynsey as individuals and just how epic they were together.A refreshing read for me and I highly recommend it. 5 stars, hands down! 🙌💙

One Moment Please by Amy Daws a five-star read you would wait longer than a moment for
One Moment Please by Amy Daws a five-star read you would wait longer than a moment for. What can I say, I laughed (a lot), cried (a fair bit) and I smiled like a crazy person (so much more than normal, my husband asked if I was having a stroke). This was just the right story, at just the right time. Amy Daws has always produced amazing stories and I will be honest, I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy this one as surprise pregnancy are not always stories I enjoy for personal reasons, but this was done well and done us all proud. Thank you Amy for being an amazing writer as well as an amazing human being.

I can’t stop!
I have literally read the first three books of this series in the past three days. I’m like an addict! I love how the characters are included in each book. I feel like I really know this ever growing family. Also, by heck can Amy Daws write a sex scene! I’ve gone through a few batteries I won’t lie 😳😂I follow Amy on FB and it genuinely makes me laugh to see the little “Amy ways” coming through in the characters. For example Amy is charcuterie obsessed, as was Lynsey in this novel.I literally have an Amy Daws addiction! Send help, it’s day 4 and I’m starting book 4! HELP!!!!

Incredible
One moment please is an hilarious heart warming book that had me giggling while also adding heart wrenching moments that left a lump in my throat. Lynsey character was so warm with a sense of innocence about her that you can't help but get emotionally entrenched in the story. Dr Dick as you can probably guess is a sexy doctor with a dickish attitude and a whole load of baggage. The two of them have amazing chemistry. The story is written flawlessly, it capitates the readers and gets you emotionally invested. An absolutely breathtaking read.

Good characters and Lynsey is fun
Lynsey finds that sitting in the hospital cafeteria means her thesis gets written and just as she gets the job done she finds a grumpy doctor confronting her as to why she is there. They argue and she ends up dropping her favourite pie in his lap and walking away. They meets again in a bar and she is tipsy and they end up having a momentous night together with her sneaking out before he wakes. Three months later he is the doctor on call when she needs stitches and a blood test reveals a pregnancy. Lots of arguments ensue and grumpy doctor isnt pleased when she constantly ignores him. Its realistic in the way the story unfolds and she finds out what has made him so miserable and Josh realises she makes his life better.
