What Memories!
I was amazed that anyone actually published a book about the wonderful place I grew up in, To be honest, however, I was expecting more! I would have loved to see and read more about the schools: OPHS, Key, Frost, Clinton, Roosevelt, Pepper, Lessinger, Einstein etc. Also neglected was the amazing Dexter Davison shopping center. I would have loved to see more interior pictures of many of the iconic food establishments. from Sanders to the great delis to Staffords & Sammys. Nonetheless I still applaud Gerald Naftaly for writing this fine book which has brought back many wonderful memories of my childhood.FYI I found a great clip from 1974 of the Dexter Davison Shopping center[...]

Oak Park
I was a kid in the 60s growing up in Oak Park. I didn't know any of the history or politics and couldn't have cared. It was a wonderful place to be at the time. It's also amazing how many of us Oak Park kids stay in touch and there is not a trip to the area that I don't drive through Oak Park. This was a great book to learn more about this fabulous little city.

Great City, Great History, Great Book!
This book covers the history of Oak Park as a village and then a city and incorporates photographs and memories from seven decades of living in Oak Park. Oak Park has been a great place to grow up, go to school, parks and recreation facilities and shop and eat. Many pleasant memories are brought back to life in this book, Images of America - Oak Park. A wonderful treasure! Enjoy and reminisce!

Loved This!
Reading this book and going through the amazing photos here was a blast. It was kind of emotional, too. I grew up in Oak Park and now live in Texas. The book brought back so many memories and gave me a better understanding of my hometown's history. I'm so grateful to Jerry Naftaly for writing this terrific book!
