Great message, but not done in the best way !
I think most people will agree with Dr Batman's message, it makes sense and I know with all my health problems, I know it will help. The list of ailments are to numerous to mention, but lets just say anxiety disorder, panic attacks and depression and all their associated symptoms ruin my life. I have finally given up coffee, and I'm drinking tons of water and some sea salt, so only time will tell what will happen.I would give this book 5 stars for the message alone. I don't neccesarily agree with some of his ideas, especially the one that humans came from creatures in the ocean who evolved, but it ultimately is about drinking more water. My main problem is this is not a easy read in any sense of the word. It just isn't " user friendly " enough. I think the dear doctor ( who I believe has since passed away ) is using lots of indepth terminology to win over other doctors and professionals in the medical field, and ends up alienating the average person who will by the book. I guess you can't please everyone all the time, but if this book was in a easier reading style and making some of his very scientific explenations a bit more understandable to people like me, would help the book sell a lot more, and get the message accross better. All in all, there's nothing to lose, just give it a go.

Interesting Book, But Most Of The "Evidence," is anecdotal?
I found this book absolutely fascinating.I bought it because I was interested in the whole subject of possible dehydration. However, I don't think I buy all of its assertions. It may well be, that many people, like myself who consume too much caffeine are dehydrated.I learned a valuable lesson about making sure that most of my liquid intake, in future, will come from water, plain and simple. However, once I gave up caffeine, I found that I stopped "losing water," for want of a better expression, very quickly and where, once, I was in and out of the loo every 10 minutes, or so, now I can go hours without needing to go..I buy into the idea of keeping my drinking before and in between meals. However, I'm more convinced by other articles and books which claim that, tea/coffee/alcohol/caffeinated beverages and their diuretic effects aside, a good portion of the water we need to consume actually comes from food, of all types and that, provided we avoid the diuretic drinks as much as possible, while still allowing for the odd social drink, or brew, from time to time, that we don't need to be downing 8+ glasses of water everyday in order to stay hydrated, or reap all of the other "benefits," touted by the author, should we choose to drink that much. And, I have a bit of a gnawing doubt that, that amount of water is necessary for human beings, or any other animal to consume..Supporters of Macrobiotics, which I think has its own flaws will argue that we should ONLY drink when thirsty and that we should only sip liquids, if need be, during meals.I'd go along with that notion, particularly given that various groups of human beings have survived, even thrived, on very little water, for millenia.I'm not aware of various hunter/gatherer groups gulping down 8 glasses, or anything close, of water a day and they seem to do OK.That applies to those who live in desert conditions, or in the extreme Arctic.Furthermore, if we look around the animal kingdom at animals, particularly, our closest relatives in the primate world and see what their water intake is like, I'd wonder if it even approaches that recommended by the author, although, again, I'm sure they get their intake from a variety of sources..I'm trying to remember if I ever saw my dog get through more than a bowl, if that, of water every day..I think she drank whenever she was thirsty and I still wonder if we couldn't learn a thing, or 3, from the natural instincts of other animal species. That said, I've increased my water intake, but certainly not to the amount recommended by the author and I'm trying to keep it away from meals and I'm sipping it..gently :O)

Dr Batmanghelidj discovered many diseases are cured by consuming sufficient water
Dr. Batmanghelidj's discovery of the many diseases cured simply by consuming sufficient water created the greatest medical breakthrough of the 20th century, yet allopathic medicine behaves as the three monkeys at the news, with respect to the noble creatures. Of course, conventional medicine is not interested in curing disease, but for disease maintenance with pharmaceutical drugs from which they make their living and create more disease.Everyone who is interested in their own health and the health of their family should purchase a copy of this book. It is a must-read to replace the medicine chest of pharmaceuticals. That said, after reading the book I proved for myself the validity of Dr Batmanghelidj's water cure, and stopped 50 years of progressively serious to life-threatening stomach ulcers. I now continue drinking between 2 to 2.5 litres of water daily. Although I do recognise that some people 'need' to drink more water than others. Nor all humans are made the same.

MUST READ!
I have been suffering from heavy period pains since I know myself. I just couldn’t believe that by just drinking water I didn’t need to take a painkiller for the first time in my entire life!!! I have been using painkillers for twenty years. I was sceptical and had my water and painkiller beside me but couldn’t believe that ONLY drinking water helped me with deep breathing.I felt really stupid for using the strongest painkillers all my life. I had no idea that my body was crying for water but i was crying for painkillers. A huge thank you from bottom of my heart!!

An Excellent Book
This is not the first book I have bought from Dr. Batmanghelidj and it would not be the last. I've read number of them and I have to say although I have no medical background I have found them very easy to read with sufficient explanation and an adequate pictures. His books not only cure diseases such as Obesity, Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure, Rheumatoid, Depressions and in our case Arthritis and Asthma and Hay fever but also prevent them. I've purchased this book as a second hand book, but it had a an excellent condition (as new) and much earlier than expected. To the Seller, Thank You. Pleasure to do business with you.
