I can't decide about how I feel about this one...
So it stinks like rotten fish, but it's tasty and the smell is gone when you get it wet. I usually put in my coffee or 4oz water. My issue is side effects... I feel super trembly, jittery, high strung, and dizzy. Focus is there, but dang... I'm weighing out 2g on a scale that I trust to 0.1 but has "resolution" to 0.01 and works out to 1.00 with an NSF certified 1g tare calibration weight (the scale is not NSF). It lasts maybe 4 hours and gives micro cramps all over just under the surface of my skin, especially legs/feet and hands. Very twitchy stuff. I don't have any of the issues anyone else has posted, which I read before posting. I tried after meals, fasting, with/without other foods/caffeine, etc. to try to get it to stop.

What can you say about a vitamin supplement
Flavor is very bland which is true no matter which brands you buy. given the present pricing structure namely inflation it is A good buy. If you want to improve the taste you mix it with some sort of a flavor enhancer And water

Sweet and Healthy
While D-Serine is a downstream product, so is the folic acid cycle and glycine, which is an essential precursor for glutathione. You can either take this, or glycine, but both are sweet and go well in your morning coffee. I think most studies showing an increase in glutathione show that a combination of glycine and L-serine is ideal, so mix them together if you want. Either way if you exercise or eat broccoli or other plant hormetic compounds your body will use this up as it produces glutathione naturally as part of the oxidant/antioxidant cycle required for healthy cell turnover and slower aging.

Smells Like Rotting Fish
I contacted BulkSupplements after receiving my 1kg package of L-Serine powder, asking about the very strong fish smell emanating from the open package. I noted that my previous purchases (from another source) had no scent, and I was concerned that the smell was due to decomposition during storage in a hot damp environment, compromising the quality of the product. I received this response:"It is normal and natural for amino acids to have a fishy smell to them. This smell is caused by the compound Trimethylamine, which is present in the product. We do not use ingredients to mask the natural odor or taste of our products. Changes in minor characteristics are common based on the supplier of the product. A different supplier may indicate a different manufacturing process that can slightly alter color, taste, smell, texture, solubility, or the density that you are used to."While I appreciated the prompt and reasonable explanation, and I'm not concerned about the quality or safety of the product, I won't purchase again because the smell makes it less than pleasant to ingest.

Pure L-Serine with no sugar, soy, dairy, yeast, gluten, or additives.
Ordered October 2016, Expire date is May 29, 2019. That was a repeated complaint in older reviews, so I was happy to see that the product will be 'good' for some time. The package is resealable heavy duty plastic, which contains 500g of L-Serine Distributed Exclusively by BulkSupplements.com Henderson, NV Price is same on Amazon dot com as on Bulksupplements dot com web site. Both sites offer discounts, i.e. is on subscribe and save or buy in volume and save on company site. I could not determine if the product is sourced in the United States or elsewhere. The product is white granular, weighted such that it does not dust up (like flour). The recommended dose is 2000 mg a day, Possible Side Effects: This supplement can cause nausea, insomnia and indigestion. While side effects are rare, taking too much of this supplement can result in serious issues such as cerebral allergies and suppression of the immune system. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not take this product. Our experience in the month we've used it: We normally add a small rounded teaspoon to our morning beverage of choice. Dissolves quickly. Mixed in 8 oz of Hot drinks (tea, coffee) which seems to amplify a bitterness, with a long residual bitter aftertaste. Cold drinks (apple juice (unflitered), goat milk, oat milk, water) still have a slight bitterness and after taste, but not as intense. Tonight I tried 1/4 tsp of Stevia, 1 teaspoon of L-Serine powder, with 1/4 cup cold water. This tasted better than all previous combinations with with different beverages. The bitter aftertaste remains, so I am chasing with hot herbal tea alternating with cold goat milk until the aftertaste dissipates. I will continue to experiment with the amount of L-Serine and different liquids until I develop a combination that is more palatable to drink. I may eventually purchase empty capsules to fill on my own if I can't figure out how to prevent the bitter aftertaste. My husband experiences clearer thinking and more energy on the days he remembers to take it, while I await similar results. As with other reviewers, I researched and purchased this product after reading September 2016 beginning page 58-59 article in a SouthWest (as in the airlines) in flight magazine titled: The Magazine. The article is available online, and an interesting read for the variety of information in the story. [...]
