After spading through the soaker hose I found these for the repair. Soaker hoses now are horribly expensive so anything to repair them saves dollars. Fair warning: you’ll need to shove cut hose parts onto both ends to make the repair and my hands just were strong enough. My solution was to heat both ends of the soaker hose, I used a heat gun but a hot hairdryer would probably do the trick to soften the rubber. Then quickly twist each end onto the repair piece. Haven’t turn the water on yet but I suspect the repair will stay solid.

These make splicing easy but the fit wasn't tight enough. Soaker hose might have been too old and needed clamps to get these fitting better. Water poured out of the connections. I would recommend installing clamps if you use these. I will use them for repairs in the future. They will work in other applications.

These are a very tight fit into the soaker hose but they still leak. Will likely still need to replace the hose instead of just fix with these.

It's much easier to insert the connector if you heat the hose with a heat gun (or maybe a hair dryer) to make it pliable. This keeps the hose from splitting.

Would not purchase again

I bought it mainly for the straight pieces. They work well for mending soaker hoses. The hose menders made for the usual garden water hoses are too rough on the soft, spongy soaker hoses. I have also used them on my drip irrigation system, and they are excellent for that.

This thing works great for soaker hoses, especially those black rubber ones which tear all the time. Much cheaper than buying a new hose! Make sure to soften the hose a bit in the sun, or in some hot water before joining the pieces together. And make a clean cut on the hose so you get a good edge and seal.

I was looking for repair parts to mend a garden hose with a pin hole in it. It has an inside diameter of 1/2 inch and I was having a problem finding repair parts for this diameter, and found these. They looked too good to be true (easy install), but elected to give them a try since alternatives were hard to find for this diameter. It turned out they were very easy to install, and initially looked like they were going to work, but when under water pressure they flew apart. I have installed gear clamps on both sides of the repair and we'll see if that solves the problem.

These are very difficult and tight, if not impossible to fit into standard 1/2" irrigation pipe. I had to heat the end of the pipe in hot water and plaster the elbow in silicon grease to get them to push together. They work ok on more flexible thinner walled hose pipe but that's about it. I've just tried the Claber type elbows and these work and fit together onto the black irrigation pipe far better and with minimum effort.

Perfect for the job. For reference, the barbs are about 16mm across, which makes a perfect seal with a standard garden hose, although you may want to heat the hose up in some hot water to make it easier to push on to the fitting.

Very difficult to use on standard 13mm /1/2 irrigation pipe. The high ridges make it very difficult to fit compared to other brands.Also, it does not work on soaker hoses or pipe to soaker hose as is a commoner way to use them compared to other brands. This brand fits the soaker hose but leaks.

I ordered these to build my rainwater harvest system, connecting small lengths of 1/2 inch garden hose pipe. Bit tricky to get on when cold, but some gentle heat allowed the pipe to fit over the barbs. Would advise using a jubilee clip on each connection to ensure the it is water tight.

Good solid connectors, bought for irrigation use,using the 1/2 inch garden hose for better pressure.Recommended, will buy again when needed.
