Emulsion paint
It was meant to be a one coat paint, just doing one coat, it and was very patchy even did not cover doing two coats properly, l found it very difficult to paint with this paint, it was very thick, l used a roller, paint pad, and various paint brushes, did not go on very smoothly, probably would not use again. I was painting walls in my kitchen/diner.

Johnstone's one coat emulsion
Fantastic paint, not a lot of splatter. Rich and velvetty finish.

Brilliant value
First off. Don’t panic!!!! ( colour Seashell ) Yes it goes on the walls and looks like wet clay. However when dry it looks just like the description. Nearly panicked into a right mess at first. However soldiered through, as I was on a tight timeframe. A surprise for my partner. So it was a too late to regret and had to hope for the best. However it dries true and looks amazing . So glad with the results. One tin did my SMALL hallway. If put on with brush, yes then it’s a one coat. However with a roller, that’s designed to do thin coating. Then it needs two. Really good quality paint and the final result looks great.

Best of bad bunch
Torn on this because until yesterday I was about to write a scathing review about it because it is definitely not one coat Matt. That is a fact. I have painted over light pink and needed three/four coats which isn't great really. Now this was the first white paint I'd ever used and the reason I decided to be nicer was because I bought another white paint (Leyland) on offer somewhere else and it was absolutely terrible. It sounds like I'm exaggerating but I feel like I'd have needed like 7-8 coats. It was just barely going on so it made this Johnstone's paint seem better.I guess that negatives from another paint shouldn't necessarily make this pain glowing, but it does. I guess a one coat white paint doesn't really exist so manufacturers should just stop claiming it and consumers should stop believing but I had hope. I will stick with this paint just because it's been the best from a bad bunch!
