UPDATE: It came quickly and in good condition EXCEPT one limb bolt does not seat properly
It came quickly and in good condition EXCEPT one limb bolt does not seat properly. I am now going through the process of returning it to the manufacturer and if that goes well I will update my review. Here is the update! I contacted Southwest Archery directly, emailing them instead of going through the return system on their website, which required a $10 dollar payment plus shipping the item back. I let them know that the riser had an issue (the hole was not quite deep enough and wasn't made quite right - so it damaged the bolt when attaching the limb, and wouldn't function - it was still wobbly when tightened as much as possible). They responded promptly, and offered to send a replacement riser after I destroyed the damaged one. There were no hidden charges, and now the bow works beautifully. The service couldn't have been beat - I wrote to them on Friday, and received the replacement the following Monday!I LOVE the bow and the kit is excellent. Everything fits together nicely, and the bow is beautiful. Thank you for an excellent experience, even with the complications!

Beauty and Brawn!
Sage 2 Spyder take down recurve bow ready 2 shoot package is awesome! I am brand new to archery—as in, I shot my brothers Samick Sage 55lb (at maybe a 75% draw) and loved it so much that I went home and ordered a 45lb for me (62” long). I am female and I’m able to get a pretty full draw on this bow, of course I’m sore because I have to build up my muscles. I went to the range and was amazed at the straightness of the 31.5” arrows that came with the package. High quality VForce 500 carbon (see picture) and perfect for this bow. As far as I can tell, the case would easily fit 12 arrows without damage and possible more. I bought a few more arrows at the range and they did not work at all (they were 400’s and very wavy). So, I returned them and found that the 500’s are perfect for this bow—and longer arrows are good—did not have to be cut. This Bow is made from choice solid hard woods and composite limbs and has a beautiful grain finish. The only improvement that I would suggest on this product, since it is marketed as a ready-2-shoot set, is that they go ahead and include felt arrow rest, nocking points and a finger protector. I also personally didn’t like the arm guard just because the straps tend to slip, so Velcro straps would be better. But all-in-all, I would totally suggest this set. It is an awesome bow with super nice arrows and a great case (My brother was jealous).

Great recurve, watch the lb limbs you buy
Great recurve, watch the lb limbs you buy, bought the 50lb first and that is way too much draw for target practice. Good for hunting though. Bought the 30lb limbs for targets and am real happy. Stringer tool broke on the first attempt to use it. Contacting Southwest and they promptly sent a replacement ASAP. Great customer service. Handle and limbs are aesthetically beautiful. Awesome bow, very happy

but finished much better. Some are calling this the New Samick Sage ...
Similar to the Samick Sage, but finished much better. Some are calling this the New Samick Sage 2. Overall, I would buy the Spyder over the Sage. My only con would be the limb bolts require a Allen wrench whereas the Sage has knurled bolts which require no tools. If you like the knurled bolts, the Sage ones will fit the Spyder and can be found online.

Great bow great price great experience
I've been shooting archery for 25 years, just getting back into traditional and this was the bow I went with based off reviews and price. I didn't just look here, I watched dozens of videos, waded through hundreds of forums and still decided on the Spyder. I'm 6'4" so I went with the XL at 45 lbs. This is my first recurved in a decade, but compared to my last three it is amazing. Super smooth feel, beautiful appearance, well built. Kit comes with basics. I would advise anybody getting this to invest in either a glove or finger tabs. I'm shooting 400 spine carbons off the shelf and making 2 in front at 20 yds. Not my best, but with no sights and off the shelf for the first time in 20 yrs I'm impressed. Case is not as durable as it appears, but not a bad case. Included arm guard isn't bad either, as I was expecting something cheap as party of a kit. Another thing I plan to do is buy the hand tighten like bolts, is rather not have to carry an Allen wrench everywhere when shooting.
