This hat I purchased for my husband who is always outdoors.Fishing ..hiking swimming...concerts ..the color of this hat is amazing. Even though this is a straw hat it looks Rich! The colors blended in the weave ..so nice style!!

I test drove this hat along Venice and Santa Monica beaches last weekend. I'm not entirely sure how I've lived without it. First of all, this is a true straw hat, so you'll get to enjoy that straw smell like you did when you were young visiting your Uncle Bob's farm up in Irwin, Nebraska. Secondly, you'll notice the drawstring. I've never owned a straw hat before, so this was all new to me. I thought it was just for show, but it also functions as a reliable way to keep your Billabong Men's Tides Natural Straw Hat from flying off into the crowd. Third, is the straw weaving. This hat is made in China, and they know weaving. When laying in the sun, I maneuvered this hat above my face. The weaving was just light enough to allow a fresh ocean breeze to flow through whilst blocking 99% of the harmful UV rays. Lastly would be the style points of the front "Tides" patching. I'd like to think of it as a black and white abstract open to interpretation. I suppose it could be "Tides" as stated in the item description, but couldn't it also be rows of racially diverse sharks swimming in unison? Maybe it's a grey-scale embroidery of a wild fire that burnt down a neighboring field of straw. You'll be wearing a modernized art piece once you stop thinking about buying this hat and finally do it. Bonus points for being Amazon Prime.

Hat looks just like it does in the photos, and it fits my head perfectly (results may vary lol) I have a somewhat large, "oval" shaped head and so a lot of hat don't fit me properly. One thing I really appreciate is that the headband isn't super thick, though it is soft and sufficient to keep the hat comfortable. Too many times the headband is thick and for anyone who actually wears these in hot climates that's the worst, not this one, and that's a big deal for me. I can definitely see what other people are saying about the material being brittle, and this hat might break on me at some point but I wouldn't say it's poor construction, just maybe more brittle straw. Save for a strong gust of wind I think it would hold up, just be a little more careful.

I really wish I would’ve taken pictures to demonstrate how bad this item arrived, not once but twice! My boyfriend purchased this hat for using when he goes paddleboarding, long story short the hat arrives and it arrives damaged it had a hole like if it the straw material had cracked. Alright no problem, we’ll have it replaced and we’ll just get the next one. Second once arrives, and it literally looked like it was run over by a truck! Completely demolished. How did no one check the hat before shipping it?! We were literally in shock that it occurred twice! Anyways, we returned it and purchased a different brand from a store. I’m sure it probably would’ve been a good straw hat but honestly after receiving it damaged, multiple times, not only do I not trust who ever shipped it but the fact that it was damaged made me be cautious of the materials being used for this hat. That’s why we ended going with another brand. Overall just be cautious with this hat, I’m sure if you take care of it it’ll do great but I can’t be quite confident it’ll be a hat that’ll last. (I obviously don’t expect it to last forever either)

This is an awesome hat. I bought it and went on a rafting trip in cataract canyon in Utah and it remained strong and perfect after high winds (40 mph) and through class 4 rapids. I got it totally soaked and it sagged some but I set it out on a flat surface and it dried back. Our raft capsized in the middle of the biggest rapid and I was wearing the hat yet it is still fine and stayed on my head! My friend who was also on the same trip bought a straw hat from a gas station for the same price and by the second day (before the rapids) it completely deteriorated and ripped out just from the wind. It fits well and is quite durable assuming its straw.

I have a averageish maybe smallish head and I will say this 1-size-fits-all is false advertising. I could spin it on my head freely. Good quality and all that. Box it came in was too small so it was shaped like a quabidyashwits and never settled down. Walmart sells one very similar for $16 just saying...

Was looking to replace my old worn out hat that I’ve been using for years. Didn’t want anything gimmicky, just a straight up Lifeguard style hat for the beach and when I work in the yard. This hat checks all the boxes and the weave on it is very cool, even better than I expected. The fit is spot on with the stretchy inner band being very comfortable.

Cappello di ottima qualità, il prezzo molto basso non rispecchia la grande qualità di costruzione e dei materiali. Purtroppo ho dovuto fare il reso poiché il packaging di amazon questa volta non è stato all'altezza e l'articolo mi è arrivato rotto. Ovviamente assistenza di amazon pronta a risolvere il problema ,fatto reso e ricevuto regolare rimborso . Consiglio!

the product came in a very small box, and the product arrived with the straw completely broken, i request a replacement and it came 100 times worst than the first one……

This hat is great. It’s well constructed and is easy to wear has a nice cord to keep it on your head in the wind and is wide enough to keep the sun off of you but not so wide that you look like a dolt. Will buy another when this one’s done, it’s straw, they don’t last forever
