The Smuggler is a water blooping, rattling, walker with an incredible life-like swimming bird action. Yeah right!!
It’s a great idea, and I fell for it, but the execution leaves something to be desired. First of all, it doesn’t retrieve like the product video shows, it kinda flops back while reeling. Then, worst of all, about 75% of casts result in the bird getting tangled in the line, which is a backwards deadlike bird being reeled in.I used this lure where I usually have great success with top water lures, as well as cranks, spinners, and rigs. The fish are there, and they are decent size (3-5 pound bass), but I got zero action on this lure.I went with high expectations, and left with a lure I wanted to throw away.Bottom line, don’t waste your money.

Junk not worth purchasing
I used it for several fishing trips and it constantly fouls up on the hooks. I used several different leader solutions including snap swivel, tied directly to the line, and with an eye swivel. 80% of the time the cast was impossible fouling with treble hook. I fish a lot and have never had a lure so hard to use.

Really works
This lure catches the big ones.

Caught bass within 10 minutes in Florida heat 90 degrees
5pm bright sunlight hot no shade. Caught a medium size bass. I would give 5stars but the bass bent the wings back after that the wings were like paper when I bent them back. The site chase baits dosent have an option for replacement wings. So I have to spend another 20 bucks to replace it after it broke doing what it claims to do. Offer replacement wings for these for 2 or 3 bucks and I would have no problem with this product.

Hang on!
Bass blow up on this bait like I've never seen in 40 years of topwater fishing. It swims exactly like a bird would when soaked. They kill this bait. Super explosive strikes because of it's action. Braided line is recommended. Fish it like a swimbait!

Caught a 5lb bass 2nd time out
This lure really looks like an injured bird in the water. Well made.I took it out twice so far and caught two bass.5 lb in small lake is my 2nd biggest in 10 years.Recommended!

Cool looking lure
Awesome looking lure. Great action in the water. Doesn't catch fish but my daughter loves it! lolI have yet to get one hit on this lure.
