Great product
Hello everyoneI am permanently disabled due to Bone Cancer. I am basically bed ridden. My only joy in life is my children. What I do to pass the time when I am not with them is watch TV or play games. My computer is in my office and my bed is were I play video games. I noticed that I didn't play games as much because it was hard to get to my office and back as I am in pain 24/7/365. Roughly a 6-7 all day everyday. So I got this and prayed it worked because it would allow me to be in less pain. It works so far and I am around a corner and about 20+ feet from my computer. It was super easy to install as well. I didn't have to even disconnect my computer. Simply took the side off to expose my motherboard and installed the device. The instructions are lacking. However it is pretty easy to setup.1. Unplug only your reset and power wires.2. Plug the power to the power wires facing each other and the reset to the reset. Then plug the wires back into the motherboard.3. You should have a free USB plug available on your motherboard. Then simply plug in the main part into that slot in the motherboard.4. If you don't have an open USB on the motherboard you have an expansion piece you can use. However you don't need it if you have an open USB slot. But what's nice about it is you can now plug in 3 USB slots if you want to.

Works Great! Room for Improvement
Unless you have the time, skill, and budget to make your own (or can find a relic of the 1990s) this is the remote control for your PC to buy. Easy to instal and works right away. No drivers or other stuff to go wrong. It’s very analog. Comes with everything needed to use out of the box. My only complaints are that the USB header adapter doesn’t allow enough clearance for adjacent stuff plugged in my board and the receiver just barely squeezed in. Had to use some tape so the pins on the back wouldn’t touch my case. Maybe include a cable based USB header splitter instead. That way the receiver can flop around onto a different area. Finally, the remote could be nicer. It’s reasonable in quality as is and have no doubts that this adapter will last through future builds to come.

I LOVE the product, but read this before buying.
If your motherboard only has ONE 9-pin connection AND you need a splitter/hub, either avoid this product, or plan to power the receiver another way. I LOVE this little remote, but I struggled to get everything up and running correctly. Most motherboards do not provide enough power for multiple devices on a single internal 9-pin connector. While the receiver is plugged DIRECTLY into the 9-pin connector, this thing does exactly what you want it to do, but the second you need to put it on a hub or splitter, it will not work unless the hub has external power. A simple 9-pin to USB-A cord and running it outside my case was my solution. If your board has multiple 9-pin connectors, buy this remote. If it only has one and you need a hub/splitter, just think ahead. Worth the money.

battery dies
Great product at least until the battery died a few days later in the remote. Not sure if they just included a weak battery or there is something wrong with the electronics. I was careful to put the battery in according to the +/- terminal markings inside the remote. Now I have to get new batteries and troubleshoot and then possibly return, not thrilled with the hassle.

OMG...I love it!!
For my photography, I run a PC that has a raid card, many drives and connected to a cloud backup solution, you know to protect my stuff. One of the problems I face, the computer draws alot of power when running and just hate the idea of wasting electricity. For years...YEARS... i have experimented with several ideas on how to boot up this machine without having to be infront of it. I tried Wake on Lan but never could get it configured just right. Then I saw this device and let me tell you, it was like that moment in the movie/tv show where the clouds part and the sun light hits their face!!Setup was a breeze and I got to be honest, when I saw device online, I thought I was going to be losing the USB ports that I had plugged in but this device offers a pass-through option!!, BONUS!!!One connected to USB header, and attached to the boards POWER & HDD LED panel pin outs, using it was a breeze. Off, on, off, off, on... all with a click of a button. Now I can sit in my office, and turn on my server, which is 20ft away line of sight, if I could see through walls ;)I know Silverstone makes another variant that uses an open PCIe slot (B075ZMPKW6). The only thing I liked about it, was that it included a speaker that would give audio feedback that its working however the fact that it used a PCIe slot bothered me as I could use those for other things like Sata/USB expansions, additional NICs or a NVME drive. USB 2.0 is basically useless at this point so I have no issues accessing this type of port for the device.I just need to work now if I can get my BOND to work with this remote. Then I could just say "Alexa, boot up my server"Note #1 - I am seeing alots of complaints about the battery life. I am only 1 week into the device. So i'm not sure if I am going to have this problem. Someone has posted that they may have solved the problem and gave detailed instructions. If it comes down to it, I will give those a shot.Note #2 - I am seeing that there are 2 versions on Amazon for essentially the same item however they come at different prices. I bought the B0859PKPKT one. Here is the other one, B01MQUANS8. Not sure of the difference, so I went with the cheaper option of course.
