High quality, useful tools that make the act of grilling easier than using inferior pieces, a bit expensive considering others.
I have the capability to do some grilling in the winter, my back porch area is about 12 X 18 feet and glassed in. Ten years ago I had a commercial airflow exhaust fan put in because I was considering a hot tub. Ultimately, that would be too much work to keep clean and maintained for the time I'd use it, so I never got one. However the overhead exhaust fan comes in handy. Out of the snow and wind I use a Sportsman Cast Iron Grill, it has a fair but not too large grill surface and is perfect for searing steaks, burgers or chicken. With a grill mat it will even work for fish, and I like to grill veggies and especially ears of corn. I use mayo instead of butter for the corn when I take it off the grill because it doesn't melt like butter and fall off. The grill uses charcoal and the whole cast iron body gets very hot so these tools are great to work with and not worry about getting too close, I don't even have to put on grilling gloves or mitts.I have a set of Tongs I use for indoor cooking but they are always locking when I don't want them to. These don't just lock haphazardly, but when I want them to be. They do a nice job on chicken, shrimp, some veggies, steaks and of course brats, but I'd only use on certain fish like tuna steaks or swordfish. For softer fish, I'd use the flipper, also for thinner or loose packed burgers. For brats you'll really need the tongs a lot if you cook them from raw. You will need to keep alternating between the hot side and the heat side of the grill, to prevent burning. It takes about 20 minutes to properly cook one and hot have it explode. My normal alternative is punch a small hole in each end and cook in beer for 20 minutes in a boiling pot, then finish on the grill in about 5 minutes. If you can do it from raw without exploding it means you've earned your masters in grilling, so good luck if you want to try. The spatula has a bottle opener on it, sort of an unusual feature for a spatula, it did get some grease on my Budweiser, but not a bad feature if you don't have one close to the grill. My other grill has one on the side, but the Sportsman, does not, it would be too hot to use even if it did. The spatula is very thin so used right it won't destroy High quality solid construction all around, but only for grilling use, not a good fit given the size for the kitchen stove. I've bought similar tools for 10-20 dollars individually, so given the price these only get a mild recommend for quality. I think this set needs to drop about 15 bucks to be in the reasonable price range, there are too many competitors otherwise.

PK Grills makes impressive products!
I do a lot of grilling and smoking, and have tried many grill utensil sets. This is the strongest, heftiest, most heavy-duty tongs and spatula that I've ever used. Along with that strength and durability comes a lot of weight, so be prepared for that, as more effort is needed to turn, flip and maneuver your meats around. These are also larger than any grill tools I've ever seen; that also makes them a bit harder to maneuver. A more muscular arm and larger hands will have an easier time of it.These are such impressive tools that I was prompted to take a look at the grills that this company makes. Wow! You really should check them out. These are not the tools for dainty foods--and the size does not allow for a lot of precision. But if you want to be King or Queen of the grill, and if you want to control large burgers and big cuts of meat, these will help you get there. What I look for in tongs? Whether the two sides come together at the point and if the metal and shape of the "teeth" have great holding power. These do. (Cheap tongs from China have large scalloped, rounded edges that don't grip anything. Watch out for them and avoid.)What I look for in a spatula? Whether the front edge is nice and thin and can effortlessly slide under foods without tearing it up. I also want that front edge to be thin enough so that I can lift just the slightest edge of a food and peak underneath without disturbing my grill marks. This spatula has a very fine edge. It also has ridges that help to prevent sticking. And, there are those ridges instead of holes. All these features help prevent ground meat patties from tearing and dragging. (Easier for onion rings, too.)The only thing that prevented me from giving this a five-star rating? The latch on the tongs does not hold on the tongs I received.

Strong, durable and high quality set of utensils for your grill
Heavy duty quality grilling tongs and spatula set from PK Grills. As soon as you hold them for the first time, you can appreciate the quality of the materials. Made from premium grade stainless steel, which has a nice thickness with a lot of resistance with a little give. The fluted spatula makes it easier to slide food on and off without sticking or pushing the food. The tongs use the same quality metal, with crimped edges to grab food and prevent slippage. Between them is a spring, which, when you squeeze the handles together, it sounds like an old bed. There is a lever that you can bring down which will catch a hook below it to keep them closed when you are done with use. I feel like this needs to be worked out better, cause I had difficulty latching it to a closed setting. I like the quality of the tongs, but these are a few minor things that I think could make this a slightly better set. But functionally speaking, they work great. They are a good weight and I can command the grill well with these utensils.
