Is this rack made in the USA

So when it says USA based company they are being tricky and the company is USA based, but manufacture in China? SO annoying.

Can anyone recommend a stainless steel sheet I can place under this?

I don't know about stainless steel but Nordic Ware Commercial Aluminum sheet pans are the best ... used them for years without warping .... for this size rack, try Nordic Ware Natural Aluminum Commercial Quarter Sheet

What is the square area of each grid -- 1/2" x 1/2" ?

About 3/8". The very end of one side of the grid is slightly larger.

what is the exact width & length of the rack.

The question is "EXACT" measurements, so please don't answer if you either "won't" measure or are "not capable" of measuring accurately. The 12" x 17" is a standard advertising size. Since no one wants to measure, the product information states "Product Dimensions:16.77 x 0.6 x 11.69 inches." I hope that is accurate because the EXACT measurement matters to me very much too!
