GT130 Gateway (Compatible with Alexa) – Zigbee

Works well with their own products but doesn’t support anything else. I replaced it with a Hubitat hub after a month.

I purchased this because I was disappointed with the level of integration between my thermostat and my Hubitat hub. I was really hoping that I’d get some more advanced functionality using this hub in terms of electricity usage, firmware updates, scheduling, and control over the thermostat display. I was disappointed to find that the functionality isn’t much different.While there’s an energy usage graph, you can’t get specific point-in-time usage data so it’s hard for me to use it to maximize the thermostats efficiency. Sure I can tell it used x kWh during a particular hour, but how long specifically did it run? Was it at the lowest power setting? The highest? No idea. Obviously this data is accessible somewhere to create what it does graph, but it’s just not as useful as I hoped. Slightly better than what I see with my Hubitat, but not much.No option to update the firmware that I can find. Maybe it does it automatically, but I can’t tell because I don’t know if I have the latest firmware or not. Can’t find the info on their support site or in the app.In the Hubitat I was unable to set a schedule for the thermostat as far as I could tell, so I had to use either an app or rule machine to set one up. Not a huge deal, but I would prefer to set the schedule on the schedule on the thermostat itself so if the hub went down the schedule still ran (you know, like every other thermostat out there). I hoped this gateway and app would allow me to do that, only to find that schedules are set up in almost exactly the same way with the gt130 hub. No hub, no schedule.Outdoor temp was something I couldn’t do in Hubitat due to poor API documentation on Sinope’s part (Hubitat devs have expressed frustration at not being able to get answers when they ask Sinope for API details). The hub allowed for the outdoor temp, but whatever service that is used to get the temp from is totally off. We’re talking 5-10 degrees Fahrenheit difference. Can’t turn off the outdoor temp on the lcd display either, which is confusing as hell when looking at the thermostat LCD screen.Speaking of controlling the LCD, virtually no additional options for controlling the LCD screen that couldn’t be set via the thermostat itself or the Hubitat. Set points, Fahrenheit or Celsius, and display always on or on demand.And while not directly part of the hub, the app fails to completely switch to English when you change the language. The graphs still have French months in them, and some of the menus aren’t fully translated. Sloppy programming if you ask me.So ultimately, if you don’t already have a zigbee hub for your Sinope item then you’ll need this to take advantage of all features but if you already have another hub don’t waste your money on this one. It doesn’t provide anything worth the extra cost.

Bonne technologie, très bon pour la maison et proximité, sauf si le garage est loin, la portée du module est limité. Toutefois quand ça communique c’est très bien. La possibilité pour des automatisations pourrait avoir plus de choix. Sinon j’adore

We purchased this product since it was the only one that worked with the antiquated baseboard heating system in our rental apartment. It works very well. Installation is very simple and the app gets constant updates showing that the company really invest in the product. It saved us between 20% and 30% on our electricity bill and made the apartment way more comfortable than with the previous manual thermostat.
