I purchased the 25" x 42" bag. It truly is 42" long. I was concerned if the airlines would give me any problems with its size for international or national travel. We flew on Delta, but they did not even look twice at my bag which was 42" long. I did not have the bag stuffed full, but I had an item in the duffel that was 40" long, so that is why I needed this longer duffle. The bag came with a shoulder strap, which some commentaries said that theirs did not. Mine DID. The bag has a high quality zipper. The bag held up well on international travel. Yes, it arrived in South America with a small hole in the side or heavy abrasion on the material, but the bag held up despite the airlines doing their magic there. Great price and great quality.

I bought this for my son who was going to 2 outdoor camps this summer where he wasn’t allowed to take a typical piece of luggage. This bag has been amazing! So roomy! He was able to pack a sleeping bag and pillow, full weeks worth of regular clothing and special activities clothing and blanket and snacks. I was surprised at the quality for the price. Super happy with it.

I kept comparing this bag to the Filios bag when I was trying to decide which one to get. The dimensions between these two bags are NOT comparable. I ordered the small hoplite bag which has listed dimensions of 36" x 21". The 36" is obviously the length, but what is this 21"? For ALL Hoplite bags the second dimension is the FLAT WIDTH not the diameter (Filios bags) which I only discovered after receiving it myself. Here are my calculations for these hoplite bags:Small: 36” long x 21” flat width circumference = 21 x2 = 42 radius = 6.68 length = 36 volume: 5046.67 in3 total dimensions (length + flat width): 57 inchesMedium: 42” long x 25” flat width circumference: 50 radius: 7.96 volume: 8,360.37 in3 total dimensions (length + flat width): 67 inchesAs for the bag itself, it seems super durable, high quality canvas, big heavy duty zippers. Exactly what I want for many years of use on international flights. However, I'll be returning the large for a medium. These dimensions mean the Hoplite bags are all fairly long and skinny compared to the Filios bag which are more classic travel duffle bag shaped. The total dimensions are calculated for airlines that have max total dimensions (usually LxWxH which translates to length x circumference/2 for cylindrical bags). Best thing is these bags are about the same price as Amazon Basics duffle bags yet WAY more durable.

Great sturdy item

The zipper and materials are ultra durable and sturdy as advertised. Note - the size is huge. If you need to store ultra long supplies in this duffel bag then I recommend otherwise, I would opt for several smaller duffle bags by WhiteDuck. I am going to take my big duffle bag on a sled in a winter tour and will post another update on how the bag held up to rough winter conditions - rain and snow. (Note - I will still be lining the interior of the bag with thick contractor garbage bags to keep out moisture and I would recommend this for any kind of backpack or duffle bag if you truly want to keep your things from getting wet in heavy rain or snow).

Holds up well

Received within the said period. Canvas feels thick and feels rigid. Have not put to the test yet.
