This unusual property makes it useful as a sealant for seeping ponds, lagoons, etc. Bentonite never permanently sets or hardens. Its flexible, expanding, and self-sealing properties are important advantages when used for water impedance purposes. Bentonite Chips is for application through water in existing ponds. Application rates range from 2 to 6 pounds per square foot of area to be treated.
