Chewed before use!!! Dammit
Beware the chewing puppy! A new set of SupertraX will cost about £70 including shipping from USA. My ramp was barely out of the box and in the back of my daughter's truck where it was eaten by her puppy! My old Labrador won't use it and - as it's been chewed - I cannot return it. It doesn't have raised sides as described: the ramp's sides without SupertraX, are very slightly raised. I don't know whether raised sides do make a dog feel more secure, but thought it worth mentioning. It is very sturdy and easy to carry, but it is quite bulky and will take up a chunk of space normally used by your dogs. In my opinion, it is of sufficient weight and bulk to necessitate being firmly secured in the boot during transit, so add straps/bungies to the cost. I summary: high score for its quality, offset by the cost of spare/replacement matting. Easy to carry but bulky in the boot. Will need to be secured to prevent injury to occupants (canine and human) in the event of a jolt or hard braking. Hope this helps

Easy to use
I only ordered this late Saturday evening and it arrived this morning, Monday and a Bank Holiday so I'm impressed with that.My nearly 12-year old Cocker spaniel (~25kg), whose back legs can't quite provide the bounce they used to, went up the ramp at the first attempt with one of his favourite treats just ahead of his nose. No problems at all so a great relief. A little bit more hesitant coming down but he's done that twice now so we're all set for easier access to the back of the car, an X-Trail, for all future walks. I attached the safety clip to the boot lock and rested the top of the ramp on the lowest part of the bumper, to keep the incline low, and it was all good and stable. It could be attached higher up if needed. The ramp is fairly heavy, a bit unwieldy and could do with a better, or more obvious, handle but the weight must be due to the sturdiness and stability both of which are more important than whether this pensioner can grapple with the thing easily!

Great but still fairly heavy
We got this for our 4 year old lab after she developed a back problem and needed surgery. She was hesitant to use at first but will use it guided up. It doesn’t really clip on to the car well as the clip attachment is long so it could slip but we generally have one person holding the ramp and another guiding the dog up! The ramp itself seems very robust and good quality. The covering is great and our dog finds it easy to grip which avoids slips. It folds down easily but you have to learn a knack to avoid catching your fingers in the folds! It’s still fairly heavy but still much better than lifting our 31kg dog in and out of the car!!

Very good grip - wish it was lighter in weight
Wish the ramp was a bit lighter. It is great in that it really is non-slip unlike the last PetSafe Solvit one that I had. However, it could do with raised sides as my old dog almost went off the side as her legs are a little unsteady sometimes. Saying all that, the ramp is very sturdy and does fold down to a good size. The carry grip bit is good too as is the clip which is used to attach to the car and which came in very useful when my younger dog went up the ramp way too fast once and it he made the ramp shoot to the side - the clip stopped the ramp from falling off my bumper.

Difficult to operate
This was not right for us. Found it too heavy and clumsy to unfold. When attached to the car (good thing is it clips on) couldnt get my English Bully up it really as it was quite narrow for him he kept falling off the side!! He weighs 38kg and it also seemed to bow under his weight so not sure how long this would last. Had to return.

Excellent product
One of my best canine related purchases. I am short and rather weak these days but I can manage this. The green surface is great, not hard on their paws but gives them good grip because it allows their claws to sink into it slightly. Longer than many, so great with my Subaru Forester. I have recommended already to friends and one purchased after seeing mine. Still works when wet and it’s also a decent width which is important with larger dogs
