Excellent Fit, Just Like the Photo
Used it on the 7 round magazine. Design and manufacturing quality is top notch. Superb fit and color match, just like the picture. Slight texture difference. Easy install, interfacing features and retention notch were accurate. No interference of the Fixxer extension with the S&W pistol grip when inserting and locking the mag in place. Although there is only a few thousands of an inch (hair's width) space left between the extension and grip (again just like the photo). So perhaps if the manufactured tolerances of both were tight there possibly could be an interference - just speculating here. But if that was the case, would be easy to file or sand down the surface a bit for good fit. Molding looks good, no defects or distortion, only a very slight (normal) parting line visible (can't feel it).Good ergonomics. I would have liked the pinky-lip to have been a bit lower to give me more room (I have big hands), but still OK. Nice for reacting muzzle flip.During loading of the mag, when bracing the S&W stock mag base against a surface, the shell leans forward 34 degrees (towards the "bullet end"). With the Fixxer it leans backwards about 6 degrees. So the Fixxer extension works better when using an UpLULA loading assist.Excellent product, well worth the cost. I will be purchasing more for my other magazines.Message to Fixxer: Please pass on my compliments to whomever designed the shape, tolerancing, and molding.

probably more like two. Was easy and straight forward
Installation: It took me less than 5 minutes to install the grip extension; probably more like two. Was easy and straight forward, and didn't even require any tools aside from something to poke the bottom of the clip with.Feel: The extension is sturdy and doesn't wobble at all like some reviewers have mentioned. Maybe they got a bad one or their clip wasn't perfect, but mine feels like a part of the gun. It's just the right length to get your pinky finger on the handle without being too long. I have relatively "normal" sized hands for a male, but if you had XL glove sized hands this would still work for you. If you have smaller or M glove sized hands, though, I'm not sure you would need an extension since the 8-round clip already has a small one, so something to keep in mind.Color: The color matches the gun exactly; it even has the same "grain" texture on it that the rest of the Shield has. If someone showed me this gun and I had no idea that was an add-on, I would just assume that's how the Shield came.Overall, I'm very pleased with the product and glad I purchased it. The gun felt fine already but now feels just a little more "hefty" while still being a sub-compact pistol. Worth the price to be sure.

S&W shield 9mm
I really like this magazine extension, I will use it on my smaller magazine for target shooting. The S&W shield 9mm is a small gun meant for concealed carrying, but for practice shooting with the smaller magazine, my pinky finger doesn't have anywhere to go and makes shooting with the smaller magazine a little awkward. This extension fixes that by allowing me to have a place for my pinky finger and allows for a little better grip. My two complaints are first, the extension fits a little loose before the ammo is loaded into the magazine. Second, the gun fits awkwardly in my pocket with the extension because it catches while putting it into my pocket and then the extension creates a more noticeable print on the outside of the pocket. Overall I am very pleased with the extension mostly because it helps with practice shooting and it's the best accessory for the money.

OK, but could be much better
Let's first put it out there that the photos used for this brand are not of the actual product. The grip extension you would be buying off of this page is from the brand Fixxxer, however, it is falsely advertise with the grip extension from the brand Pearce Grips. On that note, let's move on.Before I go into what's wrong with it, I just want to point out that it does serve it's function just fine. However, there are a few things about this grip extension (and how it was advertised here on Amazon) that has made me decide to go with the Pearce Grip instead. This grip extension is cheaper for a few reasons:1. Like many have said in other reviews, the plate does shift a lot and looks clunky when it does. However, I have done some rather rigorous testing and found that the plate doesn't pop off like many have feared may happen. It's simply that the hole cut into the plate is larger than the stock S&W plate has, so the notch in the mag has quite a bit of wiggle room.2. When it comes to the cosmetics, they are very inconsistent and seems like there was very little effort put into them. The texture they have on the grip extension does not always match what is on the gun. Some areas of the texture have the matte finish like it should and other areas either doesn't have the texture or has a somewhat shiny look to it.3. The shape of the grip extension is off. What I mean is that the shape of it does not match the exact shape of the handle of the gun. The grip extension is slightly wider than the gun's handle. Again, another small thing in detail that makes it seem they didn't put much effort into making the shape flush with the gun.

Nice addition to the M&P Shield
Nice addition to the M&P Shield .40. Took it to the range to test out the grip extension and it makes a big difference. I was able to shoot better because of the increase grip area. Bear in mind, I used the extension on the 8-round mag. I haven't tried it on the seven round mag yet. I figure it would still help out quite a bit. Also, some people say the plate fits loose, but I haven't experienced this issue.Concerning concealed carry, this extension may cause a little more of an imprint, but it's not enough to be an issue. Will you see a small gap between the plate and mag well? Yes, but remember, the Shields aren't the absolute top of the line. They are fantastic and easy to conceal, but they aren't quite on the scale of a Kimber or Sig. A tiny sliver of magazine showing will not alter the function of the firearm, rest assured.Bottom line: Good product at a good price. I would definitely recommend to anyone.
