I find it difficult to grip firmly. It slides around. That's my main criticism. It is solidly built though and the mechanical function works well, advancing the lead and putting it back in.

When I got this lead holder I loved it. This changed in short order though. I didn’t even make it through my first lead and it broke. The steel part on the nose of the pen attaches to the plastic shaft. It had no threads it appears to be glued and it just came apart. I will be looking for a higher quality lead holder.

UPDATED 6/18/21This lead holder, which I "thought" was nearly perfect turns out to be made from inferior materials. I've had the holder for nearly 60 days and today I found that pointed barrel cap, which screws onto the rest of the lead feeder mechanism and secures the whole thing into the stem of the holder, had broken off and cannot be fixed. I've used these same kind of holders for YEARS, and it is not uncommon for the barrel tip to come unscrewed with use. But, as you can see in the pictures, the threaded piece that the tip screws onto is made from a cheap plastic instead of metal. Somehow it broke at this juncture point. Needless to say that I am very disappointed. And, of course, it's way too late to get a replacement.Original Review posted 4/21This set is EXACTLY what I was looking for. It comes with the lead holder (most would call this the "pencil"), which has a sharpener integrated into the rear push button. The lead holder advances the lead incrementally instead of just releasing the lead completely as other holders do. The set comes with 2 packs of leads AND and secondary sharpener. The holder is well built and comfortable to use. An outstanding value in my opinion!

Love this mechanical pencil! This is the first time i ever bought a pencil like this, i noticed in some of my watercolor books they recommended useing HB mechanical pencil so i thought i would try it out, for some reason i feel like its easier to draw with this then a regular pencil...
