“Like it was destiny waiting to happen, T4TT² feels like the timing of its message has arrived again.” Yusuf / Cat Stevens50 years on from the release of Tea for the Tillerman, the 1970 multi-platinum selling, era-defining album that made a superstar, this new set sees Yusuf recast the same eleven songs for a new age with dramatic results. Half a century and an entire universe of experiences after they were originally laid down on tape, T4TT² is a beautiful reunion between the artist and the songs that helped define the melodious 70’s. Since then, the impact of Tillerman and its suite of songs including Father And Son, Wild World and On The Road To Find Out have subtly intertwined with the fabric of popular culture. At this most volatile and uncertain time, such values are entirely deserving of representation and with Tea for the Tillerman² a whole new generation will discover this album all over again. This vinyl edition comes pressed on 180g (heavyweight) vinyl in 12” gatefold packaging.

Playful, thoughtful and quite beautiful.
Well i couldn't wait to get this on the turntable. I have a huge smile on my face as i write this down. Is it any good? That's a difficult question if you compare it to one of the greatest albums ever produced. I can confirm it is beautifully recorded, sounds amazing and he has been playful and thoughtful in the making of this record. Longerboats has been reworked, given the lyrics and Yusuf's beliefs it isn't surprising. I actually prefer the new version of Father & Son, he hasn't messed with it, but i think it quite wonderful. I'm not going to say anymore other than this record will not be left on the shelf collecting dust, it is brilliant in its own right. It is an old friend, that you know and love, re-imagined.I'm sure some will put it down, but if you are prepared for a re-imagined TFTT, then you are in for a treat.Oh, all the packaging has been beautifully produced too.

Utterly Superb
The media could not be loaded. Received my copy today, and the mastering for vinyl is utterly superb -- every bit as good as the original album, although whether you prefer this version or the original is a matter of personal taste (I'm mixed and prefer the original of Wild World). My only disappointment is that I needed to pay again for the MP3 version as, at the time of writing, it isn't part of the autorip service. The vinyl sounds noticeably better and richer than the MP3 version (when played through the same amp), and is delivered at 256kbps rather than the maximum 320kbps.PS. My little video was filmed for demo purposes -- don't be put off by the poor quality of my phone recording.

Absolutely delightful
For those of you who are undecided, you'd be missing a right treat here. As I'm relaxing with Yusuf in the background and a glass of cold beer in my hand, I can feel the day's work fatigue sliding from my head all the way to my toes. And as for the art work on the sleeve and the page inside, well, they'll be framed and hung on the wall in my mini bar at home, no doubt about that.My verdict folks: Just buy a copy. It'd be the best few quid you've spent. I didn't discover Yusuf until a few years ago myself, and he's just as current today as he was all those years ago. Class never outdates.

Clean well before playing!
On first playing, record jumped on most songs. Improved after anti static clean, but finally needed two sessions on record cleaning machine (fluid vacuum). Record then sounded great. Very impressed with sound and new versions of songs, although a couple will take getting used to. Amazon.com give free MP3 download on completing purchase. Sadly, Amazon UK make you pay again.

It's a grower
Love the first album? You just have to have this. nice art work, nice rewording of "hard headed woman"It hasn't grabbed me from the first play like the original did but I feel it's a "grower" and you just gotta have both versions in your collection. An anti static sleeve would have been nice.

Genius Musician
It's very rare for an artist to improve on a piece of work made 50 years ago, that's exactly what Cat Stevens now Yusef has done with "Tea for the Tiller Man" ..... the original was brilliant, this new arrangement is just sublime 🙏🙏🙏

Tea For the Tilleman I e II Comparações inevitáveis.

Tolle Neuinterpretationen.

Just an all out awesome and enjoyable album as long as you listen to it as a new album by Yusuf.
First batch was bad on vinyl but the second batch is a complete stand out as one of the best recorded, performed and re-imagined tunes ever put out by Yusuf. The original is epoch but I actually prefer this recording to the original because Yusuf’s voice is more rich and pleasing.Complete audiophile dream. Don’t believe the naysayers on this album. It is the best of the 50 year rereleased editions that are being made.
