Lovely
My husband (Indian) LOVED the book, and so based on that AND the fact that my son listens mesmerized with attention, I give it 5 stars! The stories are very cute and quite comical, and apparently really are 'traditional', as my husband recognized a couple! He also didn't recognize others, and liked them!I really like to bring all my son's heritage to life through books (Indian from my husband and Hispanic from me) and this book is helpful in doing that!

Very Happy
Great quality book! Excellent stories to read to a child (8+ to read themselves) and to learn about Hindu deities. Detailed stories and fantastic colorful art. Good to add to a child’s library.

Great gifts for kids!
I really wanted to give my nephews and nieces books about Indian stories but written in English. This can be really hard to find. I found these to be best and my nieces and nephews love reading them themselves now that they are at age they read by themselves.

Most funnies story book.
This book not only with funny, full of sense of humor stories, also with great education value. Things can be discuss with my 6 years old daughter, and for her to understanding the Indian culture.....way better than the Disney princess story......... way more educated and enlightenment to read every night.

Not for the very young
These are good stories, but the cover is a bit deceptive: these are not stories for the primary grades so much as they are for lower intermediate (i.e., 12 to 14 year olds.) The story concepts are fairly complex, and the length of the stories -- and syntax -- are far beyond the attention skills of your average 6 year old.

Bought as a gift. Nice Illustrations & quality
I purchased this for a friend. I like the size, illustration quality. I have to admit I didn't read all the storires, but it made a nice gift and I will probably want it for my child's library. It's good for anyone who wants to expose their child to fairy tales from another culture(India).

5 year old Japanese boy loves these stories
I bought this book as the first introduction to Indian myth and traditional stories for myself and for my 5 year old son. I read this to my boy before his bed time and he loves it. My son already knew the story of Rama from his kindergarten class but he was happy to find out he knew the story already. The stories and illustrations are fascinating for me as well.

Good stories but a little scary for young kids
I bought for my 4 year old but he was a little frightened by the pics and some stories. Better for older kids!
