Our family loves dal. I couldn't find cumin seeds in our stores only ground cumin. Now I can make my own in the instant pot. These seeds provide a much different flavor than ground cumin. Our tastes pretty close to what we get at our favorite Indian food restaurant.

I buy a lot of bulk spices and store them, tightly sealed, in my freezer, where they typically remain flavorful for 2 years or more in whole form. Generally, they compare very favorably to supermarket spices when first opened. These cumin seeds are either a much less fragrant and flavorful varietal, or they were old. The scent when I opened the bag was less than I typically get opening a small jar. Usually with a bag this size, it's a heavenly scent when you first open, and far more pronounced than supermarket jars. And even when I used much more than called for my favorite recipes, the flavor was comparably dull and weak. We eat a lot of jeera rice, my main use for cumin seeds, and the flavor was not the bright, lively flavor I'm used to. I can still use it in spice blends if I double the volume, so it's not a total waste; but it's not good enough to be a defining flavor in a recipe that really showcases the spice.

These Soeos whole cumin seeds smelled and tasted fresh, and bulk bags are usually a good value, but the label and packaging are not informative enough. There's no information about the country of origin or where the seeds were packaged, just that it's distributed by a company in Queens, NY.

This cumin seed offers a great depth of flavor to so many different dishes. You can use them whole, or even grind them up to use as a powder. I use cumin almost daily, so this 1lb bag will last me a while. The cumin seeds were delivered fresh and in good condition. If you have never tried this spice, I highly recommend it. I would however liked if the packaging were different-perhaps in a jar or a resealable bag.

This is a large bag of cumin seeds, good value and a great spice to have on hand. We use cumin in a lot of recipes, but I think it will take quite awhile to go through this bag.

Great value. Smelling good. This hug pack of Cumin Seeds is enough for my one year use. I always use Cumin Seeds on BBQ, meats especially lamb will tasted amazing along with this. The only cons is no enough info on product label. Not mentioned where the cumin comes from on label and cannot be found on product detailed page as well. Overall, great product but seller could add more description for the product.
