Solidly Made - Quality Tool - Good Size for Larger Rivets
I have needed a new rivet tool for years now. The one I had got to the point where I had to practically disassemble it to remove the shank each time I installed a rivet. But it's just one of those things you don't use that often so I kept telling myself I would probably not need it again in my lifetime. Well I am 65 and have said that at least 10 times in the last few years so...well, here I am, finally, with a new rivet toolIt was not an easy selection either since there are so many and none made in the USA - well that I could find anyway, and the ones listed all had mixed reviews. So it felt like a bit of a risk no matter which one I chose. I tried to stay away from any that made a point of mentioning the number of rivets you got with the tool or a carrying case. Those two factors are not important as I need a tool not rivets and certainly not a case. Not sure why one would want a case for a hand tool.Anyway, I have always had pretty good luck with Stanley tools so in the end that was the way I went and based on the quality of the tool, I feel like I made the right choice. It is very solidly made and has a good heft to it. I did not particularly care if it had a rotating head, but since I have had a chance to test it, I like that feature a lot. The size of the tool is substantial, much larger than my old one, so it has a pretty wide grip. It is not an issue for me since I have big hands, but it might make it difficult for someone with smaller hands to use with just one hand. However, if you are installing large rivets you will appreciate the leverage you can get from the longer length of the handles.Based on the quality of the tool the price is right and I would recommend it over any of the "kits" available. In my opinion, if you need both a tool and rivets, buy this tool and pick up some rivets separately - it is that well made. I am confident this tool will be the last one I need to buy and can recommend it without hesitation.

Works, but isn't the best.
The tool works just fine. Pops rivets in as designed. The swivel head is nice. However, I have to compress the handles 5-7 times on each and every rivet? Why? Coworkers riveters take 2 sometimes 3 on the same rivets. Also, cannot fit 1/4 inch rivets.

Durable and reliable
Best hand held riveter I've owned. Durable and works every time. Real heavy for it's size but worth lugging it around in my toolbox.

Works Well - seems quality built - No pinches, rivets easily snap off
I purchased this at Ace Hardware. Honestly, I wasn't excited about purchasing the Stanley brand as I find most of their tools lower quality for my taste. This tool was an exception. It worked really well for the 20 rivets I needed on a small job. The last rivet gun I had was guaranteed to pinch me a few times whilst using it. This one, didn't pinch my skin at all; not once. The levers to this tool are also much longer than my last gun (probably 4" longer), making it easier to insert the rivet with less force. The head also spins if you need to get into a tight place. This tool is certainly good enough for my occasional use, and likely yours. Perhaps it's not what I would use if I needed a rivet gun all day long as a professional.

Best rivet gun.
I work as a contractor specializing in steel frame, steel panel buildings, and when it comes to installing trim and soffet, this tool is above all.

Poor quality!!!
Broke internally after using once. I only put in four rivets.

Broke second time I used it. It's garbage.
I bought this as an upgrade to a cheaper rivet tool that I've had for decades because it has the heads for more sizes of rivets. It appeared to be well-made. However, it broke the 2nd time I used it. The "grabber" wouldn't lock unto a rivet to pop it. It just slipped. Before that, it wouldn't release a rivet without extreme effort. And, yes, I know how to use rivet tools and have used them since the 1960s. This tool is simply garbage and that's exactly where it's going.
