Quality.
One of my favorite books. This review is about the quality of the physical book. This is a beautiful, little hardcover. Gold edged pages. A ribbon to keep your place. Perfect!

Beautiful little book
This is a beautiful little book. Very well-crafted, love the size, jacket is so pretty and the cover underneath is beautiful, very nice paper-quality. I plan to order more of the classics I’ve always wanted to read. Kindles and iPads are great, but when it comes to reading, give me an old-fashioned book any day.

One of my favorite classics
I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did but I love the Age of Innocence. I fell head over heels for the New York in the 1870s and was so invested in Ellen and Newland’s affair. The depiction of society was well done and this was such a good read even if the first couple chapters are a little slow. I ended watch the film afterwards and besides the cast being amazing, the movie was so well done it made me fall in love with the novel all over again.

VERY SMALL PRINT!
The book size is approx 4 x 6. The print is so small it is very hard to read. I sent it back.

On fine paper with gilded edges - It was charming to read this edition of Warton's classic.

Tiny print
Small book. Small print. The novel is, of course, brilliant.

On the small side
Beautiful book. It’s rather small with small type, but beautiful nonetheless.

What is today's relevance of this book ?
Quite entertaining and easy to read. But this is really a book for social historians' of New York's upper crust of the 1870's.And who is ?It is mainly about endless silly snobbery among people who have absolutely nothing else to do.Basic distinction from "common people" : Which family has its own carriage and which doesn't ? Familieswithout their own carriage are simply beyond the pale. Do you have your own box at the opera ? Do you have your own "cottage" at Newport/Rhode Island ? Do you belong to the oldest New York families of Anglo-Dutch ancestry ?Who invites who for dinner ? Endless rounds of mutual visits for silly tittle tattle. And then there is the scandal :A disgraced woman separated from her husband ! Shocking beyond belief !Who cares ?Bottomline : Much ado about nothing. Mostly irrelevant. But very nicely written.
