I've struggled with pill splitters that just crush tablets into dust. This one is different! The blade is incredibly sharp and gives me a perfectly clean cut every single time, with no crumbling. The little built-in storage compartment is helpful for keeping the other half safe so I don't lose it. It’s nice and small and now I don't waste pills when I cut them wrong.

This works really well for medium or even small pill-shaped pills. Cuts clean and the pieces are retained, especially small, scored tablets aligned in the cutter. For large pills, it is fairly challenged. Big football-shaped tablets break unevenly. I also have an older pill cutter (sent to me by the VA of all places) that works better on big tablets like atorvastatin, but I use this for smaller ones. So bottom line, I have two pill cutters.

This pill cutter has a sharp blade that cuts clean and evenly and keeps the pill inside after cutting, no more pills flying around from use of past ones I've used. Pricing was less than half of the Pharmacy prices and shipped fast. This is not a cheap made product, others in the past cracked the plastic easy but this one is made better. Great size for travel and it holds a few pills inside for storage if you want to keep some pre-cut ones in the holder.

This small pill cutter is built to last! It fits a variety of sized pills, the blade is sharp and the cuts are clean. I like the design element off built in compartment for your next half dose. One half of the pill slides into a closed compartment for later, the other half in to an easily assessable opening for now. That time saving and useful element is great… if you can remember the pill is there.

The pill will be cut! I have five sizes and this unit cuts them all. The unit is plastic with an embedded razor knife attached to one of the two piece clamshell. The unit opens by placing your fingers at the "button" end of the unit. You will feel two "bumps" AKA "bosses". Place a thumb on one boss and index finger of the same hand and push your fore finger against the other boss while pushing the thumb in the other direction. By this slight twisting motion the clamshell will open. Don't use much force as the unit may go flying. The blade should be in the UP portion of the clamshell. Directly below the blade is where the pill is positioned. Lower the blade until it contacts the pill. Then move you fingers out of the clamshell and while holding the bottom portion of the clamshell with one hand, lower the blade to cut the pill with the other. The cut is very smooth when the cutter is first used. As it ages it will become dull. Time for a new unit as the blade is not replaceable. This is my first time with this unit. It is OK but cuts only one pill at a time. I am interested in how long until I need to change the blade. It does the job though! If they provided a small plastic holder where you could place this unit into it to hold it, it would help the design a lot. It is hard to get a big hand around the unit. If it could clip into a 4" square x .0625" thick plastic base it would allow the unit to be held firmly by one hand as the other cuts the pill. There would be no "skidding across the table" when the unit gets away from you. The unit is very affordable IF the cutter does stay sharp for a long time. The design and price are correct for its performance.

Great value works great for small pills thank you

3 stars and a but. I'm 82 and feeling and steadiness in hands not really good for using this, another but I found nothing or Amazon that would help without spending a lot more. First difficulty is opening it up, the two very small protusions are too small for those of us with worn out touch. Secondly if you have to cut those 18 mm x 8mm tabs they not only don't move into the opening pocket for the one half tab the dust from the cut comes out toward your hand as the cut area is not deep enough. And then of course you cuss as both halves don't come out easily. It's not time saving with large pills. It does work great for small pills but most pills today are being reduced in size to less than standard size aspirin. I doubt that with the force needed to split and not really cut those tabs it will work for long.
